Poets of the Fall - Beautiful Ones
sad but wonderful rock ballad with touching lyrics: Flies with a broken wing, she's ever so graceful, so like an angel, but I see, tears flow quietly. The struggle she's seen this spring, when nothing comes dancing, paying a handsome fee, and still she smiles at me. And I can't take it, no I can't help but wonder... Why do we sacrifice the beautiful ones? How do you break a heart of gold? Why do we sacrifice our beautiful souls? Heroes of tales unsung, untold. Sweet as an angel sings, she gives though she has none left but the last one, free, unhesitatingly. And I am humbled, I'm a broken mirror, and I can't help but wonder... Why do we sacrifice the beautiful ones? How do you break a heart of gold? Why do we sacrifice our beautiful souls? Heroes of tales unsung, untold. Why do we sacrifice the beautiful ones? Why when they walk with love alone? Why do we sacrifice our beautiful souls? Just trying to find their way home.

Dead Poets Society - Oh Captain, My Captain (HD & Sub)
One of the best scene that i have seen in a dramatic movie!!!! Robin Williams is fantastic in this film and the purpose and meaning behind it is a foundation, a mind set that I believe in with all my heart. Its a reminder to do an ordinary thing extraordinarily well, also to constantly look at things in a different way.

Emily Dickinson: The Poet In Her Bedroom
"The Poet in Her Bedroom," a 32-minute program, is the first volume of the television series "Angles of a Landscape: Perspectives on Emily Dickinson," which explores little-known aspects of Dickinson's life and work. Now widely assigned to the first rank of American poets, Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was unknown and mostly unpublished in her lifetime. Since her death well over a century ago, nearly 1800 of her lyric poems have been discovered, published, and translated into dozens of languages. The poet never married and eventually confined herself to her father's house and grounds. Nonetheless Dickinson lived a rich and immensely productive creative life.

Lyrics: You had the blue note sapphire eyes, to back up all those gazes To pierce my guard and to take my soul off to faraway places Told me I'll never be alone, cos you're right there We took a gamble with this love, like sailing to the storm With the waves rushing over to take us, we were battling against the tide You were my beacon of salvation, I was your starlight So don't cry for your love, cry tears of joy Cos you're alive cradled in love Don't cry for your love, cry tears of joy Cos you're alive cradled in love I kept the love you gave me alive, and now I carry it with me I know it's just a tear drop from mother earth, but in it I can hear a dolphin sing Telling me I'll never be alone, I know you're right there So with the fire still burning bright, I wanna gaze into your light If I could see my fortune there, you know how flames can hypnotize Do I even dare to speak out your name for fear it sounds like, like a lover So don't cry for your love, cry tears of joy Cos you're alive cradled in love Don't cry for your love, cry tears of joy Cos you're alive Cradled in love

Fall like a leaf in the wind on the ocean Of blue like your eyes in the twilight theater With symphonies playing in the world without sound We're given and denied Give me back my innocence cos I wish to dream again Like I never outgrew my old playground Where the sun sets slowly with a golden crown and the leaves sing lullabies 'round vacant swings Give me those wings Let me fly once again Like I did way back when I would gamble and win To lift me high above the din Of the future we see Does it hold something for me I'm weightless again Just before the shadows... Fall like a leaf in the wind on the ocean Of blue like your eyes in the twilight theater With symphonies playing in the world without sound We're given and denied Before I'll go hear me out Cos of this there ain't no doubt When it's time for curtain call Just before the shadows... Poets of the Fall- War with Lyrics
Poets are back with their new Album 'Twilight Theater'. War is one of the best tracks. This video has the lyric of War. War is used in the soundtrack for 'Alan Wake', the long awaited game from the creators of Max Payne. Do you remember standing on a broken field White crippled wings beating the sky The harbingers of war with their nature revealed And our chances flowing by If I can let the memory heal I will remember you with me on that field When I thought that I fought this war alone You were there by my side on the frontline When I thought that I fought without a cause You gave me a reason to try Turn the page I need to see something new For now my innocence is torn We cannot linger on this stunted view Like rabid dogs of war I will let the memory heal I will remember you with me on that field When I thought that I fought this war alone You were there by my side on the frontline And we fought to believe the impossible When I thought that I fought this war alone We were one with our destinies entwined When I thought that I fought without a cause You gave me the reason why With no-one wearing their real face It's a whiteout of emotion And I've only got my brittle bones to break the fall When the love in letters fade It's like moving in slow motion And we're already too late if we arrive at all And then we're caught up in the arms race An involuntary addiction And we're shedding every value our mothers taught So will you please show me your real face Draw the line in the ...

Sleep - Poets of the fall
Sleep - Poets of the fall LYRICS: Hear your heartbeat Beat a frantic pace And it's not even seven AM You're feeling the rush of anguish settling You cannot help showing them in. Hurry up then Or you'll fall behind and They will take control of you And you need to heal The hurt behind your eyes Fickle words crowding your mind So Sleep, sugar, let your dreams flood in, Like waves of sweet fire, you're safe within Sleep, sweetie, let your floods come rushing in, And carry you over to a new morning Try as you might You try to give it up Seems to be holding on fast It's hand in your hand A shadow over your A beggar for soul in your face Still it don't matter If you won't listen If you won't let them follow you You just need to heal Make good all your lies Move on and don't look behind Day after day Fickle visions Messing with your head Fickle, vicious Sleeping in your bed Messing with your head Fickle visions Fickle, vicious
1st Day of Class: Dead Poet's Society
Quotes to Discuss on the First Day of Class: "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may" - Mr. Keating "Carpe...Carpe diem...Seize the day...Make your lives extraordinary." -- Mr. Keating "Rip it out... It is not the Bible. You're not going to go to hell for this." -- Mr. Keating "In my class you will learn to think for yourselves again. You will learn to savor words and language. No matter what anybody tells you words and ideas can change the world." -- Mr. Keating "Why do I stand up here... I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way...Just when you think you know something you have to look at it in another way even though it may seem silly or wrong you must try. Now when you read don't just consider what the author thinks, consider what you think. You must strive to find your own voice because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all. Thoreau said most men lead lives of quiet desperation. Don't be rescind to that. Breakout." -- Mr. Keating "I don't mind that your poem had a simple theme. Sometimes some of the most beautiful poetry can be about simple things like a cat, or a flower or rain. You see poetry can come from anything with the stuff of revelation in it. Just don't let your poems be ordinary." -- Mr. Keating ---- Note 1: This collection of clips begins with the first day of class and then on to subsequent student-teacher interactions throughout a semester. Poem of Kabir - Bhimsen Joshi - Beet Gaye Din
Kabir [1398-1488] Kabir was a weaver and mystic poet from northern India and lived in Hindu holy city of Benares. He was an important influence on the Hindus and Muslims of his time and also a profound influence on Guru Nanak, the first guru of the Sikh religion. Many poems of Kabir can be found in the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred scriptures that form the Guru of Sikhism. Kabir was born in a weaver's family and later adopted by childless Muslim weavers named Niru and Nimma, who found him near Lahara Tara lake, adjacent to the holy city of Varanasi. [3] But his birth is surrounded by legends. Some say he was really the son of a Brahmin widow, adopted by the Muslim couple. [4] Early in his life Kabir became a disciple of the Hindu bhakti saint Ramananda. It was unusual for a Hindu teacher to accept a Muslim student, but legend has it the young Kabir found a creative way to overcome all objections. Kabir knew which temple Ramananda meditated in each day before dawn, and Kabir lay down on the steps outside. Ramananda walked out in the dark and stepped on the boy's body. Astonished, he leaped up, and cried, "Rama!" Kabir then jumped up and said, "You spoke the name of God in my presence. You initiated me. I'm your student!"[5] A Bhakti saint, who sang the ideals of seeing all of humanity as one, his name, Kabir, is often interpreted as Guru's Grace. A weaver by profession, Kabir ranks among the world's greatest poets. In India, he is perhaps the most quoted author. The Holy ...

Louder Than a Bomb documentary trailer
Louder Than a Bomb tells the story of four Chicago high school poetry teams as they prepare to compete in the world's largest youth slam. By turns hopeful and heartbreaking, the film captures the turbulent lives of these unforgettable kids, exploring the ways writing shapes their world, and vice versa. Louder Than a Bomb is not about "high school poetry" as we often think of it. It's about language as a joyful release, irrepressibly talented teenagers obsessed with making words dance. While the topics they tackle are often deeply personal, what they put into their poems—and what they get out of them—is universal: the defining work of finding one's voice. Buy the DVD of Louder Than a Bomb: www.amazon.com "One of the most inspiring and exhilarating documentaries in years... Now that it has qualified for the Oscar via the DocuWeeks showings, I find it hard to rule out a film this vibrant and this moving." - Steve Pond, The Wrap "Four Chicago high-school poetry teams dazzle, inspire and kick serious ass with words as they prep for the world's biggest youth poetry slam. Thankfully their journey is never saccharine. What it is: powerful and exhilarating." - Liz Plosser, TimeOut Chicago "An affecting and superbly paced celebration of American youth at their creative best..." - Robert Koehler, Variety "Fascinating...Inspiring..." - Susan King, LA Times "What bowls you over in this film is the depth and intelligence and passion of these young poets, how they throw themselves so ...
