Poetic Genius (original song)
This is one of the few songs I've written that morphed from a poem into a song. This simple tune is based on a poem I wrote when I was much younger, entitled "Poetic Genius." I've modified some of the lines so that they can be sung rather than just read. Kaviyal Bijay Sarkar (16 February 1903-1985) was a Baul Singer, lyricist and composer, was born at the village of Dumdi in Narail Bengal ( now in Bangladesh). His original name was Bijay Adhikari. He studied at Tabra Primary School. He worked as a rent collector of the local court. He participated in stage performance and folk songs. In 1925, he attached with Kaviyal Manohar Sarkar from Gopalganj and Rajendranath Sarkar. In 1929 Bijay Sarkar formed his own group and became famous as a Kaviyal. He wrote lyrics and composed tune. His improvisation of Dhuya Gan, based on the Bhatiyali tune, earned him immense popularity. He was close to Kazi Nazrul Islam, Jasimuddin, and Abbasuddin Ahmed. Bijay Sarkar wrote about 400 "sakhisangbad" (accounts of friends) and Dhuya Gan. These some songs are published from Bangladesh and West Bengal. He rendered kavigan at the bangla academy, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, and on radio and television. Noted poetic singer, lyricist and music composer Bijoy Sarkar was born in a village in Narail in 1903. In his early life he was a teacher in a primary school and then joined in another work. Besides working he practiced folk songs and acted in a jatra troupe. In 1925, he was inspired in poetic song when he listened songs of famous poetic singer of Gopalganj Monohar Sarkar. Designed by Jiyeon Song The results of an extensive exploration with shadows, the One Day Poem Pavilion demonstrates the poetic, transitory, site-sensitive and time-based nature of light and shadow. Using a complex array of perforations, the pavilions surface allows light to pass through creating shifting patterns, whichduring specific times of the yeartransform into the legible text of a poem. The specific arrangements of the perforations reveal different shadow-poems according to the solar calendar: a theme of new-life during the summer solstice, a reflection on the passing of time at the period of the winter solstice. The time-based nature of the poemand the visitors time-based encounters with itallow viewers to have different experiences either seeing a stanza of the poem or getting the whole poem. All of these possible experiences are equally valuable and have meanings unique to the individual. This technique has the potential for producing particular effects and meanings within an architectural environment. Without the use of a source of power other than the sun, this project uses light and shadow to push the boundaries of communication and experiential delight.

His charm, sweet voice and youthful good looks turned him into a popular child star after a series of early radio performances in the capital city of San Juan. One of Puerto Rico's most renown and beloved popular singers, Odilio González has enjoyed an avid following for his expert singing of the island's ancient traditional poetic song form, the décima (also known as "jíbaro" music), as well as a crooner of mainstream pop music. His stage name was "Jibarito de Lares".
