Replacing freeze plugs
When coolant goes bad you may find a freeze plug leaking. They usually rot from the inside out. So, when you see one leaking, and you replace it, check the backside of it. If it's rusted out from the inside out you'll most likely have a another coolant leak real soon. When I see this condition I find it easier to simply pull the engine so we can get to them all and drive the new ones in straight. Here's one way to do it.

Replacing blown out spark plug
A common problem with Ford Triton engines is that they will blow the spark plug out, usually # 3 or # 4 on the passenger side. Some people say the only repair is to take the head off. There is a tool designed to drill out, re-tap, & install an insert. I've done it many times and so far they all are still holding. I thought you might like to see how it's done before you do one yourself.

The first video in a two part series: A quick tutorial on how to change your spark plugs in a 2005-2007 Jeep 4.7L V8. The principles apply to most gas engines, just access and location might be different. Another few precautions when changing plugs on aluminum heads: "When changing spark plugs, wait until the engine has cooled to remove the plugs. This is very important with aluminum cylinder heads because it reduces the risk of damaging the threads in the cylinder heads when the plugs come out (aluminum is a much softer metal than cast iron)." "Most threads on spark plugs for engines with aluminum heads are either precoated to reduce the risk of thread damage, or the plug shell is made of a nickel alloy. If the plug shell is black or plain steel, however, you should put some antiseize to the threads, and reduce the applied torque by about 30 to 40%." "Do not use antiseize if the plug shell is nickel or has been precoated. Volvo S60 Spark Plugs & Upper Engine Mount Replacement
This is a brief video of how I changed the spark plugs and the upper engine torque mount on my 2003 Volvo S60 2.4T. I used Bosch Platinum spark plugs, as Bosch is the OEM spark plug provider for Volvo, and the Bosch Platinum is very similar in specs to the Volvo plug. The only big difference is the price (60$ vs. 15$). Also, older S60's without the new upper engine torque mount have a tendency to crack and fall apart over time. So instead of buying just a new rubber piece, I installed the re-engineered mount that Volvo came out with in 2005. The OEM mount is made by Hutchinson, and costs only about 45-50$. There is no real point in replacing the old rubber piece, as the price and labor involved to replace the old mount will probably be about the same as putting the new redesigned on in. Spark plug replacement is due on this vehicle every 30000 miles. If you do it yourself you can save money, and still maintain your factory warranty. Also due every 30K is transfer case drain and fill (if four wheel drive), oil & filter + tire rotation & brake inspection (due every 3000). Plug gap spec is .040".

If the adjuster screws are inside and not on top of the valve-- then when you tighten the valve train assembly they will expand and push the top of the valves away from the center of the cylinder head and the valves will bend outward. See more info below. ALL ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK by jcook007fix Grab a free song on Soundcloud soundcloud.com Hi, it's better to NOT break the plug. Soak them all in PBB before proceeding. IMHO PB Blaster dissolves rust best. Better than WD40. Soak the piece in the cylinder head with the PBB. Gently heat with the torch. Try the EZ out. The flutes of the EZ out should be sharp, like new. The bolt extractor should dig in to the broken part and twist it out. Keep the socket, extension and ratchet perfectly straight on to the EZ out. The EZ out will not bend, flex, or twist, it will snap in half. If the broken piece of plug doesn't come out on the first try, remove the EZ out, then soak and heat the part again. Try to reposition the bolt extractor in the same cut groves to minimize creating metal flakes that fall into the cylinder. If you drop any bits of metal in the cylinder, fish them out before turning the engine over. The heating and cooling can help the PBB penetrate around the threads and the spark plug piece will slightly expand and contract. The PBB can ignite and burn. Don't panic. Just blow it out. Some PBB will run down into the cylinder, this is not a problem. Once you have removed the broken plug, turn the engine over a couple times without the plug installed and it will push it out ...
