An attempt by the "Monster" to break his own record of 10:01:41... COLORADO SPRINGS, CO (June 29, 2010) -- For the fifth consecutive time, Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima combined experience, skill and Falken Tires to claim overall victory in the 88th running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. He drove his new 910-hp Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special on Falken WildPeak A/T tires, the powerful new line of all-terrain, all-season tires Falken launched this past April. Following exhaustive tests in a Japanese wind tunnel facility, Monster's 2010 Pikes Peak race car underwent extensive aerodynamic changes to better adapt to the modified road surface on the race to the clouds, which assumed a smoother tarmac and less gravel than last year. Thinning air ascending the mountain robs most motors of their power by 30 or more percent, but the increase in horsepower over last year's race car helped push the driver forward.

Rhys Millen Gears up for the 2011 Pikes Peak Hill Climb
Rhys Millen returns to the 89th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb to complete the job he set out last year: shattering the record in the "Unlimited" class. Although the current record still stands at 10:01.408, Rhys hopes that modifications and upgrades to the Red Bull-sponsored Hyundai Genesis RMR PM580, along with new tarmac portions of the course, will allow him to to claim victory at this year's race and finally break the 10-minute barrier. While Rhys Millen attempts to break the overall course record, his father will compete in the Time Attack 2WD class in an updated version of the Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe that Rhys set a class record in two years ago. With five overall race wins and eight class wins under his belt, Rod Millen is considered Pikes Peak royalty by many. Chip Yates 2011 Pikes Peak - Full Record Setting Race!
June 26, 2011 Chip Yates piloted his homebuilt 240hp electric superbike to 14110 feet setting the world record for electric motorcycles on Pikes Peak and placing 2nd in class. Chip was hampered by 2.6 agonizingly slow miles of dirt, a huge oil slick on the Bottomless Pit right hand sweeper, and many hairpins had dirt strewn across them. Next year the course is entirely paved and Chip will be going for a top-10 or better result!

Please read this first before commenting! For a quiet long time I wanted to film fishing with my underwater camera. So, eventually I tried to do it but it didn't go well: first time I forgot to clear the memory in my camera, next time 2 fishermen took the spot where I had fed fish for a few days and they didn't let me stick my rod between them. Then the water level in the canal rose and the fish moved to a different place. Eventually I filmed something but it wasn't very impressive. At the same time I was thinking that it would be interesting to film how pike struck but it was obvious that it would be practically impossible to catch such moment on underwater camera. So I tried to use a small sick rudd the first time and you can watch here what I manage to film that time - www.youtube.com This is my second try: this time I caught a small roach and I attached it to the line (again no hook has been used!). I was waiting for more than 2 hours trying different spots with no luck but when I eventually wanted to go home I got a strike! Camera was quiet far from the fish + the day was very dark so as a result the footage is not very sharp but still you can see what it does and how it does it. Again, firstly as I said I didn't use a hook because I had no intention to catch a pike + I knew that live bite is not allowed in Ireland. So, no complaints about live bite, please! Also I don't think that if I had used a dead bite (killing this roach or buying a dead fish from the shop ...
