'I get lost in it ... and I do challenge myself,' he says of his largely improvised solo. 'There are no consequences. There's no mistake. If I do something weird, play it twice and it's a new part.' Highlights Include: Being Inspired By Other Drummers 'Eric Clapton said he wanted to burn his guitar after hearing Jimi Hendrix. I never understood that. If I hear somebody great it makes me want to go home and play. Not out of frustration, but out of joy.' From Smooching and Mooching. People need to know that Joe Flaherty (the dad) did the intro for "The Weapon" in the Grace Under Pressure Tour (as Count Floyd). This scene is an inside joke, so comments such as "the writers of the show don't know what they're talking about" or "buddy rich didn't take any lessons!" or "neil peart does not suck" or "he pronounced Peart wrong!" are pretty redundant. The writers know this and every "mistake" and comment made in the video is done on purpose. Plus, everyone knows the best drummer of all time is Michael Shrieve!!!

WATCH IN HD. While I do admit that I'm a pretty casual fan of Rush, I do love this song and really enjoy watching this guy play drums. Neil kicks some serious ass, even at age 50-something when this was recorded. He's definitely one of the best of all time (if not the best).
