The Problem with Religion
It really is terribly simple, 1) models with predictive capability are of utility. 2) Science is in a class of its own, a process without competitors, when it comes to its ability to form such models. So where is the problem? These are observations that not only essentially everyone agrees with, but practically EVERYONE eagerly embraces, most notably in tasting the sweet fruits of science, such as modern civilization. However religion, a model with no demonstrable predictive utility, remains prevalent within mankind. The bizarre thing is that all these people who engage in religion must realize what a good model looks like as they use them everyday of their life. Convergent models with predictive capability are the good one... the ones they chose to use. Yet still, peculiarly, these folks still embrace religion which is evidently divergent with no demonstrable predictive utility.

Jargon part II - a poll.
So I got some interesting comments and questions on the 'pearlist' video, and I'd like to know what you all think. Of course, it's entirely possible that you all think I'm being silly - and that I am - but I'd still like to hear from everyone. The pearlist video was, for the record, inspired by a lively argument early yesterday in which I couldn't get a theist to acknowledge that atheism has no dogma. When I stated the 'pearlist' idea, said theist couldn't come up with anything to knock it. So, I thought I'd share, for those who might not have heard it already. Physical Evidence And Reasoned Logic
A response to the militant atheist internet personality Thunderf00t. Thunderf00t would prefer it if atheists were called what they are and not what they are not. Seeing as an atheist is someone who does NOT believe in God, he would rather be referred to as Pearlist since he claims to believe in Physical Evidence And Reasoned Logic. However, Physical Evidence And Reasoned Logic is the very reason why I am a Christian and why I do believe in God. The evidence supporting the absolute truth of the Christian faith is overwhelming.

A response to what I consider a cheapening of the 24 hour BlogTV event that raised money for Doctors Without Borders. I know, I'm already expecting the flaming and the "one star on principle" votes. I just can't help but be a difficult bastard. I love how Rhysz has the following in the tags Awesomenes - Spelt wrong, that's good Rhysz ray comfort - Did he take part in the BlogTV event, I don't remember him being involved? creation creationism - At what point is your video or the BlogTV event connected to Creationism? Christian - Oh yeah, it's not connected with religion is it? discussion debate argument versus contest - So this video is a debate with who exactly Rhysz? rationalism pearl pearlist physical evidence and reasoned logic - Now you're just milking it. atheist atheism - How dare this be about Atheism... how dare it. god jesus bible - Again... at what point are these related to you're video. kirk cameron - Don't remember this guy taking part in the event either... must have missed it. The best tag however is the following. -- www.msf.org These are the sites at which you can make donations -- THIS IS NOT MEANT TO GO IN THE FUCKING TAGS!!! Words like "at" and "you" should never be in the damn tags. It's a key word collection so the search bar can find your video. Why don't you just put the words "teen" and "porn" in your fucking tags if you want more search exposure.
