I shot this in one take when I was at the door, leaving the Cafe Carlyle for Quincy Jones' birthday, when Patti got up on the stage, I started shooting, it still give me chills. Grammy Winner Patti Austin sings "Lean on Me" at a birthday party for her Godfather, the legendary Quincy Jones, at the Cafe Carlyle on his 75th birthday. One of my favorite Patti La Belle songs, it is so much fun listening to this classic Nu Wave R&B song that it brings backs memories of Parachute Pants, Polo Shirts, Kangaroo Shoes, Jordache Jeans , the Cosby Show and Black Girls wearing big hair, shoulder pads for jackets and swatch watches.Some of the best times of my life was going to see Beverly Hills Cop and being a Senior in High School during 1984-1985. Hot tub time machine anyone, I'll pour the Chernobyly so we can surf back to our youth just one mo time.
