The Sukhoi-made plane took to the skies for a 8-minute show. The jet's said to be equipped with some of the most advance avionics on the planet. It will be able to land on short runways and fly in any weather. It can carry up to eight medium range or two long-range missiles in its two internal bays. The jet's first prototype performed its maiden flight last January, and carried out 36 test flights. The fifth generation fighter's expected to enter service in Russia in 2015. The price tag is estimated at US $100 million.

Successful Training Launch of Short Range Ballistic Missile Hatf III (Ghaznavi) - Pakistan Army
Rawalpindi - May 10, 2012: Pakistan today conducted a successful training launch of Short Range Ballistic Missile Hatf III (Ghaznavi), which can carry nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 290 kilometers. The launch was conducted at the conclusion of the annual field training exercise of Army Strategic Force Command. The exercise was aimed at testing the operational readiness of a Strategic Missile Group. The field exercise of the ASFC was witnessed by the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai (R), Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, Commander Karachi Corps Lieutenant General Muhammad Ijaz Chaudhry, Chairman NESCOM Mr Muhammad Irfan Burney, and other senior military officials and scientists. Addressing the troops in the exercise area, the CJCSC commended the troops on displaying a high standard of proficiency in handling and operating the state of the art weapon system. He said that the nation had developed a strong nuclear deterrence capability and expected that the officers and men entrusted with the task of deterring aggression would continue to train hard and maintain professional excellence. He said that Pakistan's Armed Forces were fully capable of safeguarding Pakistan's security against aggression. Pakistan Army: Pakistan -- China Joint Military Exercise YOUYI-IV The joint exercise was spread over a period of two weeks, was aimed at sharing mutual exchange of experience and information through a comprehensive training programme in real time. This exercise was fourth in the series in which Special Forces from both sides participated. Exercise YOUYI-IV was a Brigade level joint exercise between the two armies. Chinese Army being well equipped and highly technical in nature is very meticulous, keen and equally professional in their approach. During last joint exercise in China they demonstrated high sense of professionalism and friendship towards Pakistan. Exercise YOUYI which literally translates "FRIENDSHIP" between two countries started in 2004. These exercises were mandated to boost existing professional relationship between the two friendly Armies. The day will be marked to commemorate the sacrifices of Pakistan Army, while protecting the motherland against internal and external threats. Wreath laying ceremonies will be held at Yadgar-e-Shuhada's to pay homage to supreme sacrifices rendered by sons of the soil. Yaum-e-Shuhada's main ceremony will be held at GHQ, where Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will be the host. 24/11/11: "Glorious Resolve" won Jury special award in the recently held International film festival "Eserciti-e-Popoli" held at Bracciano,Italy. The festival saw the participation of NATO and 24 other countries with 60 films produced by renowned film makers which were evaluated by qulaified and reputed jury. Glorious Resolve recieved the medal from the Chairman of the Italian Senate with the citation "A technically outstanding and emotionally powerful dramatization of the story of courageous soldier under fire in combat situation". -------------------- The Glorious Resolve highlights the epic of infantry soldiers, who fought against all odds even being totally outnumbered when the miscreants raided one of the section level outpost of an infantry battalion in South-Waziristan Agency. This Documentary focuses not only the sacrifices and achievements of Pakistan Army in Global War on terrorism but also projects Pakistan Army's glorious resolve to uproot the menace of terrorism from the land of pure. It reenacts the sacrifice of jawans of 43 Punjab who laid their lives and the two Ghazis Sepoy Mashooq and Sepoy Muslim who withheld their positions till the reinforcements came.. Pakistan Army: Rawalpindi - March 5, 2012: Pakistan today successfully test fired the Short Range Surface to Surface Ballistic Missile Hatf II (Abdali), as part of the process of validation of land based ballistic missile systems. Hatf II (Abdali) with a range of 180 km, carries nuclear as well as conventional warheads with high accuracy. It provides an operational level capability to Pakistan's Strategic Forces, additional to the strategic and tactical level capability, which Pakistan already possesses. The test was witnessed by Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani, senior officers from the Armed Forces, Scientists and Engineers of strategic organizations.

Lieutenant Jahangir Mari, the brave son of Balochistan was born in 1984 in Kohlu, a remote area of Balochistan. His father, Fateh Khan is an assistant at commissioners office, Kohlu. Lt Jahangir acquired his basic education from Taleem Foundation Grammar School, Kohlu. He was an outstanding student and subsequently, he shifted to Quetta and joined Tameer-e-Nau, College Quetta and obtained 1st Division in his FA examination. The Shaheed lieutenant Jahangir Marri belonged to Gazini sub-branch of Marri tribe and had joined Pakistan Army in 2006 and was commissioned in 34 Baloch in 2008. Lt Jahangir was a dedicated and loyal officer. He encouraged his brothers to join the army and was lucky enough to go to the war zone soon after his commissioning where his performance was remarkable. He was a respected figure among his colleagues and subordinates, and proved to be an excellent leader in the field, as he believed in leading from the front! He and his soldiers had captured a number of terrorists alive in the Bajaur Agency. It was on the 10th of July, when Lt Jahangir Mari volunteered himself for a search patrol and while leading the patrol from the front, he encountered miscreants at Chenar in Charmang Valley of Bajaur Agency. Pak Army facing difficulties in Gyari rescue operations
Pakistan Army on Saturday arranged a media briefing regarding Gyari sector tragedy. Director General Military Operations (DGMO) Maj-Gen Ashfaq Nadim flanked by Inter-Services Public Relations, ( ISPR) briefed the media about the extent of the incident and rescue and search operations of the military. He said that assistance was also sought from abroad and teams from Germany, Switzerland and China had reached the area.
