Otronicon 2010
Gaming and simulation conference Otronicon returned to the Orlando Science Center for its fifth year with four days of video games, simulators, art galleries, workshops, and more. The event, presented by Full Sail University, offers a series of exhibits and demonstrations that display how interactive technology is changing the way that we live, learn, and play.
Otronicon at the Orlando Science Center
As the Orlando Science Center's largest annual event, the Otronicon festival in 2011 attracted more than 2500 people a day who saw and experienced the latest in video games, interactive technology and virtual reality. The 2012 edition of the 4-day event, which starts Friday, Jan. 13 and ends Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, promises to build on its past success as it celebrates advancements in interactive technology. Festival-goers can experience larger-than-life video game experiences, state-of-the art medical and military simulators, robotic surgery demonstrations, and game design workshops taught by industry professionals.

Mixed Reality Paint Demo [Otronicon 2010]
This is footage of our Mixed Reality for Therapy Painting Demo, shown at ISMAR 2009 and Otronicon 2010. Created at the Media Convergence Lab at University of Central Florida. The system tracks 3D polarized glasses and a paintbrush to allow the user to paint virtually. They can select the color by putting it through a virtual paint stream. Colors are erased by using the wrong color in an area; it works like a paint by numbers. Moving your head changes the camera angle. The user is pressing against a clear piece of acrylic for a passive haptic effect.

The Halo Wedding, which took place January 17 at Otronicon V.4 in the Orlando Science Center. Much more traditional than I would've expected (and a lot shorter), I totally thought Master Chief was the groom at first. Still, it was amusing nevertheless.

This is the Encore to the Battle of the Bands. the lead singer is the one in white and the back up singer is Jorge, the host of the Rock Band Experience. This was like, the guitarist to the 2nd placed band playing bass, the singer to the 3rd place band, the host playing guitar, and the drummer i think is to the 3nd place band. This was pretty awesome. somewhere in there the guitarist to the 1st place band got up and danced. he was like 8 years old.

this is vVv Paradise fcing phychosocial. i met Jason (aka vVv Paradise) at Otronicon, and he is a really cool guy. he is part of vVv gaming. he FC'd this song DURING the competition against another player. this was pretty cool. he got 1st place and i got 2nd place. we played This Day We Fight! on Expert in single player and he beat me by less then 20000. it was VERY fun to play though. we then played Holy Wars in Co-op which was REALLY fun. me and him were the best GH player there and the best player i have ever met in real life. heres his youtube account www.youtube.com and go check out vVv Gaming. its a pretty cool website. www.vvv-gaming.com
