We loved it. It combined two of the things we are working to accomplish -- inviting people to classical music and inspiring young musicians. Steven Sharp Nelson had soloed with the orchestra the previous year and loved the spirit and the talent that the orchestra showed at such young ages (ages 13-18!) Together we developed the concept of "Beethoven's 5 Secrets," combining OneRepublic's tune "Secrets" with melodies and moments from all four movements of Beethoven's 5th Symphony. We used 5 different melodies from the 4 movements of Beethoven's 5th Symphony (not including the "bridge" the orchestra plays in the middle). Try to guess where they are and where they ...

the vegetable orchestra
Worldwide one of a kind, the Vegetable Orchestra performs on instruments made of fresh vegetables. The utilization of various ever refined vegetable instruments creates a musically and aesthetically unique sound universe. www.vegetableorchestra.org ----- december 4th, 2007 wow, were are really amazed about the flood of comments in the last hours. so thank you all for your kind and unkind comments. we really appreciated that! sorry that we can not answer all... it's just too much! just one word to all the people who are concerned about people dying of starvation: we are concerned too. but not doing this project does change nothing. it doesn't make the world a better place. if you are really concerned about the distribution of wealth then do something about it! read books about the real cause of hunger. talk with your friends and family about it. change your own life and try to change politics. buy and support the right things. it is not people using vegetables differently than usual that make the world a bad place. it's all of us wanting too much. our own car, a new cellphone, a bigger house with air condition, more money... sending the vegetables to africa does not help. on the contrary it destroys the markets there, so people can not sell their own produce, because the imported one is too cheap. and by the way: people have used vegetables for music for centuries. also in africa. ----- december 5th, 2007: sorry, we had to disable commenting temporarily. it's way too much ...

Skyrim Battle - Orchestra of Destruction
A massive classical battle designed to either give you a seizure or an eye-gasm. 2 Huge battles were recorded, one with the dragons and the other one without. I did this because the dragons were incredibly overpowered, even with the dragon settings set to normal. They also had that spell that made everything really shiny, so i wanted to record the battle again without it. I decided to post parts of both. The dragons won the first battle and the arch mages won the second one. "Polly" - available NOW on Bandcamp* for 50¢+donation (w/ high-quality artwork) at bit.ly ________________ for your enlightenment....a little of the background of the song (from wikipedia): "Bass player Krist Novoselic remembers Kurt Cobain writing 'Polly' after reading a newspaper article about the abduction, torture, and rape of a 14-year-old girl who had just finished attending a rock show in Tacoma, Washington. In June 1987 Gerald Arthur Friend picked up a 14-year-old female friend after leaving a concert at the Tacoma Dome. Upon trying to exit the car the girl was handcuffed and held hostage at knife point. The girl was taken to a mobile home where she was tortured and raped with various objects for two days. She was also threatened with a blowtorch." we recorded our cover of "polly" for SPIN magazine's "Newermind" tribute/compilation to mark the 20th anniversary of "Nevermind" in september. michael (who a lot of you have seen as the new drummer of my touring band, the grand theft orchestra) produced/engineered and played bass on the recording. this is a video me (glockenspiel, vocals, Taurus bass pedal), chad raines (banjo, percussion), and michael (bass, percussion) shot in new haven, CT on a super-tight budget with the help of some actors and filmmakers from around new york and yale. we filmed it in one day in november...i wrote the script and michael directed the video. blake, who plays the angel, is also on the cover of the first dolls' album "a is for accident ...
My Little Orchestra - Friendship Symphony No. 1 In D Major (Season 1 Orchestrated)
I'd like to remind you all the I am indeed completely insane. Well, it's finally done, 60+ hours worth of work. All of the mane songs from Season One by Daniel Ingram and plus a few more orchestrated. An entire Thanksgiving vacation killed by this project. I still can't believe I spent that much time on this project, I don't think I will ever do it again unless this song gets like 100000 views. At the Gala was alone a 15 hour project. Anyways, I decided about a week and a half ago I was gonna orchestrate all the mane songs of Season 1, what I didn't realize was that the song was gonna be twenty minutes long and take so much time to make. When I got to Winter Wrap Up I decided to give each of the mane 6 their own instrument. Twilight: String Section (She's the mane character, she get's the mane section) Pinkie Pie: Horns (She may be light but she is very outspoken, just like the horn section) Fluttershy: Mallet Percussion (She resembles the section that is not as often heard, but when it is heard, it is a thing of beauty) Applejack: Trombones (She resembles the muscle of the group, so do the trombones) Rainbow Dash: Trumpets (She is light and agile and quick, just like trumpets) Rarity: Woodwinds (Elegance is Rarity, need more be said?) So if you'll excuse me I need to rest... forever. Katie if your watching this than this song is for you, that inner child of mine still exists! Movement and Music: University of Maryland Symphony Orchestra's Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun
Conceived by James Ross Movement Design by Liz Lerman On May 4, 2012, the UMD Symphony Orchestra (UMSO) performed Debussy's "Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun" from memory, with movement design by choreographer Liz Lerman. Movement is an inherent element of music-making; yet, its impact goes largely unexplored in the orchestral setting. UMSO's performance of "Prelude to the Afternoon of the Faun" explores the connection between movement and music, specifically, how that connection facilitates communication and a colorful, nuanced performance. The choreography in this performance reflects the moods and imagery associated with Debussy's work: the sensory experiences of a faun as he awakens from an afternoon nap.
