OneDotZero 2005
Presented at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, this was our first attempt at a combined audio-visual performance. TROIKA / onedotzero TRAILER
Troika was commissioned by onedotzero to create a custom installation and visual identity around the theme of the festival 'Citystates'. Troika designed a modern digital zoetrope from which the identity was built and expanded upon creating an identity programme that seamlessly incorporates itself into the theme of the festival while challenging the existing identity of onedotzero. The visual identity consisted of a custom typeface built on legendary type-designer Wim Crouwel's Gridnik and includes all printed marketing material for UK along with implementation and design guidelines for future events in other cities.
onedotzero festival 2010: quayola installation -- topologies
A bespoke multi-screen installation featuring a brand new instalment of the ongoing Strata series by regular festival contributor and artist Quayola. Following the trails of the previous series, pre-modernist paintings re-emerge from their centenary stillness evolving into complex and mutable formations. Las Meninas (D. Velázquez, 1656) and Immacolata Concezione (G. Tiepolo, 1767) become topographic maps, linear pathways, and structures which pulsate, diverging from the original to produce a living abstract landscape. Topologies renews an interest in the calculative, generative, and arrhythmical qualities that lie dormant behind the details of a masterpiece, organically transforming a recognisable reality into a colour-saturated, calculated fabrication.

onedotzero_adventures in motion 2011 festival motion identity
onedotzero are thrilled to announce that their 2011-12 adventures in motion festival visual identity has been created by the internationally acclaimed United Visual Artists (UVA). Each year onedotzero commissions a new visual identity for its global moving image festival and tour, which launches at the BFI Southbank, London, on 23-27 November in 2011. This year, the award-winning UVA step into the frame, with a typically inventive trailer sequence using laser technology. UVA have created all the elements of the motion identity entirely from light, with typographical sequences reflecting the ephemeral nature of their installation work. Photographed by James Medcraft, the trailer sequence features specially commissioned sound, created by BAFTA and PRS award winning music and sound designer Nick Ryan. is3s [el jardin de las delicias] oneDotZero Buenos Aires
Sensual and interactive installation A garden with 10 electro-organic plants. Real plants acting as input to generate sound and image. 10 live being whom are touched by persons (as any other plant is touched) generate sound an image on the screen, specially build to detect this interface. A real sensual relationship between technology, touch and the organic. When each plant is touched generates a distintive sound and activate the light screen in a particular way. Each plant will have an anima or electronic concience, a spirit with individual sinthetic character (programmed) that will develop with the art piece. They will connect among themselves with love and envy when nobody interact with them. Synthetic emotions are determined by the interaction with the audience, generating pieces that display the dialogue of emotive-electronic relations between the plants. Maybe a plant have been touched more than others generating envy or admiration between the rest of the plants. At the same time they develop relationships of a certain affinity. All this dialogue can be seen in the light screen in the form of sound and images, creating a extraordinary composition that is in constant progress. The composition is made up between the universal conception generated (electronic) by each particular plant and concerning the other plants and the audience. All will be surrounded in a organic aesthetic, naturalistic but electronic, an electronic and magic forest where matter gain life. i2off ...

D&AD - OneDotZero - Disappearing City
Video entry made for part of my submission to D&AD student awards. Brief set by OneDotZero: The City is constantly in transition and mutation, disappearing behind changing environments and shifting identities. I have created my own adventure in motion that explores this. I have aimed to portray the way in which our cities are changing and in turn how we are changing our cities. I have explored the concept of The Disappearing City with moving image being at the heart of my final piece. A short film shot over the period of 4 days in the City of Sheffield. I firstly sought to find a contrast between old and the new, the idea that buildings are built to then sit idle for years, before finally being leveled and rebuilt. The city is in constant transition, constantly being rebuilt. However i found the more i filmed the more it became clear that there are no limitations to the constant change within a city and the video reflects this. There are untold amounts of points of interaction throughout the city by day and by night. The city changes so much so frequently via the smallest of happenings and i have captured but a few.

ONEDOTZERO - mutating city experimental film
Film made for D&AD. ONEDOTZERO brief. The city is constantly in transition and mutation, disappearing behind changing environments and shifting identities. The brief was to create your own 'adventure in motion' that explores this. In answer to the brief I have created a short film and from this a series of posters. I focused on the idea that although man is ever-changing and advancing our cities and our environments, in the end nature can destroy it all. Music: Kaki King covering Lovestoned (I think that she knows) originally by Justin timberlake. I do not own any of the music.

GEORGE - OneDotZero _ Cascade 2010.flv
During the OneDotZero_Cascade 2010, 40 cross disciplinary creatives were chosen to work together in 4 groups. I was part of the Grey Area. During the cascade we were given a brief 'better vision of an Utopia'. After tons of discussion we ended up with the Uto Power Station 'The Anti-Doom-Dome' project. One can find more information about this on www.isthisthegreyarea.blogspot.com - for the final presentation, the group decided to have an animation and this is it: George! This animation is sort of the introduction (or it sets the scene) and afterwards we go into details about what the 'anti-doom-dome' is all about.
