A two man car dealing with three people put itself at risk when one officer started what appears to be an illegal search of the rear of the car without extracting or securing the driver - which would have given him an opportunity to notify. What follows is horrific example of a police officer losing all self-control, threatening to beat the female, threatening to beat the driver and eventually saying he should have executed him "and wouldn't have lost any sleep over it" that night. The point is, most parents would rather pay a kidnapper secretly than notify the police. That's the truth of the matter. Especially when the kidnapper allows the child to speak the parent. The media took this part of the story and ran with it & put the mother in jail. The irony is most of us would have chosen to not tell the police, and do whatever they wanted. Monsey Black Bear Roaming the Neighborhood

MONSEY - A black bear has been roaming the street of a Monsey neighborhood for weeks, and concerned residents say the police have done nothing to protect them from the animal. The bear has been seen in the Wesley Hills area of Monsey for weeks now, roaming the streets in the daytime and rummaging through garbage cans, looking for food. Malki Fisher, who lives in the area, says after a bear tried to break into her kitchen on Thursday, she contacted the Ramapo Police Department, and she says they didn't do anything to help her. Other neighbors agree, complaining nothing is being done to protect anyone, especially children. Ramapo police say they are aware of the situation, and are advising everyone to stay away from any bears if they see them and to notify the police. www.news12.com

Police arresting 2 suspects at 4 am.

cops at work arresting two suspects in a primary school ground at 4am in the morning. The police had chased the two suspects down Commercial Road East London and the two men scaled a fence to try and escape. The mistake they made was the school grounds was a trap they could not get out of. The police surrounded the grounds and eventually rounded them up. What you see here is the police using the Fire Brigade to grind the lock off so they could take the two suspects into custody. the problem was that it was not until 11am when I notified the school that they realised this school gate was not locked. The gate opens onto a playground. The School is for children of Primary/junior school age and are disabled and the head teacher was concerned that a child could have got out onto the street through this unsecured gate. The cops made no attempt to notify the school of the danger they had created by not replacing the lock they had removed. Rather puts to bed their slogan: "Working for a safer London."

TEMPLE HILLS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police are investigating the slaying of a teenager who was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities say 16-year-old Duane Sheldon Hopkins Jr. was lying in the backyard of a house in the 2100 block of Gaither Street. Officers were called there about 7 am Tuesday. Hopkins, who lived in the 4000 block of 20th Place in Temple Hills, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say that several residents heard gunshots in the area Monday night, but failed to notify the police. Police spokesman Officer Larry Johnson says Hopkins was discovered by someone in the neighborhood and that investigators are working to find a motive and a suspect

A body was found floating in Bedok Reservoir early Tuesday morning. This is the fifth body found at the reservoir in the last five months. Pilot Jeffrey Nanthakumar, 31, was taking a morning jog when he saw something red floating in the waters at around 7:10am. He initially thought that it was a life jacket, but upon closer inspection, discovered it to be a body in a red top floating face down. "I was jogging in the morning, and saw some red-coloured thing floating two metres from the bank. I decided to go closer and saw the rough figure of a body floating face down," he said. "I had no phone, so I borrowed one from an elderly lady to call the police," added Jeffrey, who noted that there were a few other people with him at the scene, and that he probably wasn't the first to notify the police. An SCDF spokesman said that the body belonged to a Chinese female, whom police believed was in her late 50s. Paramedics, who arrived on the scene at 7:20am, pronounced the woman dead. The area of the discovery, directly opposite block 717, was also cordoned off by the police. The body was removed at around 10:30am. On 20 June, a highly-decomposed partial corpse of Chinese national Lin Xiao, 23, was found. He had been missing since April. Tent City, a longstanding homeless encampment in Nashville, has been the subject of controversy after a population increase and subsequent increases in police, ems and fire calls to the area. While initial attempts at keeping the camp open were successful, a stabbing that occurred over Labor Day Weekend has resulted in Metro PD's decision to permanently close the camp. Metro PD Lt Swisher will address the homelessness commisssion meeting scheduled for tomorrow (9-5-08)on the particulars of the closing. Mount Sterling Police Chief Mike McCoy is under suspension until Monday after he failed to tell the village's mayor about the incident. Madison County Sheriff James Sabin said that one of the police officers is accused of using excessive force to subdue a juvenile Tuesday morning. On Dec. 26, it was handed to the National People's Congress Standing Committee. Concern centers on an item that a person can be detained without notifying family if it would "impede investigations". Chinese lawyers question whether this item legalizes secret detention. The first draft version of the Criminal Procedure Law Amendment was completed in August 2011. It stipulates; "Except when a suspects family can't be informed, or suspects are held on suspicion of "endangering state security" or "terrorism", or it will impede investigations, family should be notified within 24 hours. This notification will include the reason of surveillance and the location of surveillance. The second version of 26th December has slight adjustments, but most of the draft is retained. Adjustments add "Once the investigation is not impeded, authorities should notify family immediately." However, the ruling remains that if "notice impedes the investigation", the family will not be notified. This shows that if police consider it a possibility that the "investigation will be impeded", family will not be notified. This allows police to directly detain and arrest suspects.
