Nigersaurus clip.mov

My skull model and flesh-head reconstruction of Nigersaurus are featured in this clip from Bizarre Dinosaurs, the NGS documentary. My skull restoration was CT scanned, and you'll see Lawrence Witmer manipulating the data to visualize head posture of this sauropod. The still image I included at the end illustrates that the only way for the muzzle to have pointed forward was for the neck to have been curved upward at its limit - this animal truly spent its time face-down. I created this model under the direction of Paul Sereno for this remarkable species' unveiling at NGS headquarters in 2007. www.TylerKeillor.com for more info on my work for this project.

"Bizarre Dinosaur" Nigersaurus - animation showing "alert" posture of head

Animation of the skull, brain endocast, and inner ear of the diplodocoid sauropod dinosaur Nigersaurus. The animation starts with sortuva "normal-looking" head posture, but transparency reveals a rotated brain and inner ear; rotating the inner ear so that it's oriented like modern-day animals do when they're alert shows that Nigersaurus had an almost vertical alert posture. This movie was generated to accompany the "Bizarre Dinosaurs" premiere on 11 Oct 2009 on the National Geographic Channel. Rendered in Amira and QuickTime by Ryan Ridgely. Nigersaurus taqueti walk cycle cgi from skeleton drawing

Nigersaurus was a plant-eater that had an unusual mouth "shaped like the wide intake slot of a vacuum" that took in food and chewed it with over a hundred very small, sharp teeth.[3] Previously, such tooth batteries have been known only in hadrosaur and ceratopsian dinosaurs, but the discovery of Nigersaurus showed that at least one sauropod lineage, the rebbachisaurids, had them, as well. Although a common genus, Nigersaurus had been poorly known until 2005, because of the delicate and highly pneumatic (filled with air spaces) construction of the skull and skeleton, which means that the fossil remains have been disarticulated. Sereno and Jeffrey A. Wilson in 2005 provided the first description of the skull and feeding adaptations. Nigersaurus had as many as 500 [1] or 600 teeth in its shovel-shaped head.[4] In 2007 an article published in the Public Library of Science (PLoS) by Sereno et al. detailed the unique anatomy of Nigersaurus. Study of its inner ear shows that Nigersaurus head was oriented downwards and was best suited for low level browsing.[5] The New York Times reports:

Spinosaurus

Spinosaurus presented by Jack the Lizard More images and stories are at Jack the Lizard Wonder World www.animal-dino.com Spinosaurus lived in North Africa. Irritator whose fossils were found in Brazil is closely related to Spinosaurus. Both of them have similar upper front teeth and the sail on their back. Baryonyx and Suchomimus also have physical resemblance of which they have huge claws on their thumbs. All four dinosaurs are in the family of Spinosauridae. Spinosaurus which is biggest among four probably inhabited on the riverside or near the lake. One of the diets of Spinosaurus might be large fish such as Mawsonia which was like a Coelacanth. Herbivorous Nigersaurus has very distinctive front teeth. Nigersaurus lived in North Africa during the late cretaceous period, approximately 98million years ago. Carcharodontosaurus was a carnivore and lived in same region and same period of time as Nigersaurus. Spinosaurus was the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever found, about 18m in length. Even Carcharodontosaurus could be intimidated by Spinosaurus. BGM "On Hearing the Firsst Cuckoo in Spring" by Frederick Delius

Let's Play Super Fossil Fighters Part 30 - Removing the Mask

Today, we fight the girl in pink and enjoy a campfire. Also, I found out the team the girl at the end of the video wants to fight (sorry for the unusual break, but I need a lot of episodes, because I don't record this week). It's Coelo, Nigersaurus (how do I pronounce it?) and the Aurochs. Also, for all those who didn't see it in my channel, I'm considering changing the team. You can write your wishes in here (or anywhere else in my videos or channel). The rules are the following: one vivosaur per element (including neutral) and also, I can't have 5 attack class vivosaurs, even if I don't use any which give a handicap. You can also just tell me to have a specific vivosaur in my team (as for now, it would be Allo). But you can also mention that i shouldn't change the team, I could progress much easier in story mode, if I kept my team (I won't rank up off-screen and I need most of the vivosaurs to get at least up to rank 9).

Hello Luis #9

SUBJECT: A New Dinosaur I met my friend Luis Falero at work a couple years ago. We became good friends and enjoyed talking to one another. Our favorite topic of discussion was science with space and animals being very popular subtopics. Space animals would rank right up there too. Animal space...not so much. But then one day Luis got another job somewhere else, which meant no more discussions. I decided I couldn't go without, so I'm making video-discussions as a substitute! It's not quite the same thing since it's pretty much one-sided, but that's okay...I hardly ever listened to him anyway.
