On September 27th, Credential Recordings/lowercase people and Atlantic Records will release Vice Verses, the eighth studio record from multi-platinum rock band Switchfoot. Working with producer Neal Avron (Weezer, Linkin Park), the band recorded most of the album in their San Diego, CA home studio. Mike Elizondo (Eminem, Regina Spektor) who pro duced Switchfoot's GRAMMY-winning album, Hello Hurricane, served as executive producer. Released in 2009, Hello Hurricane entered The Billboard 200 at No. 13 and contained the Modern Rock hits "The Sound (John M. Perkins' Blues)" and "Mess of Me." "Vice Verses is a record of tension and release. It's an attempt to describe the polarity of the human experience. The sunlight and shadow. In part 1 Common talks to Nick Huff Barili about his new album "The Dreamer, The Believer" which he says is produced by No ID, who handled the production of Common's early albums. Common states that although the new album is not coming out through Kanye's Good Music label, he still considers himself part of Good Music because he and Kanye are like brothers. Common address the rumors that him and Nas are working on an album, stating that they were originally going to put out a mixtape together called Nas (dot) Com but that they are now going to make an album together after both of them put our there solo albums. In his book "One Day It Will All Make Sense" Common mentions that early in his acting career he had a hard time getting non-stereotypical roles. In this interview with Hard Knock TV he mentions that his ideal role would be to play a character like James Bond. Common goes on to explain how acting has helped his music. www.hardknock.tv BoB AKA Bobby Ray sat down with Nick Huff Barili at SXSW for an exclusive Hard Knock TV interview. BoB calls his new album Strange Clouds a more mature album and says he has produced a lot of it along with Jim Jonsin and Dr Luke. TI not only lent his support to the project but he also has started working with BoB on a collaboration project titled The Man and The Martian, which BoB says will come out after both of their solo projects. Dual identity is brought up by Nick, as both BoB (BoB vs Bobby Ray) and TI (Ti vs TIP) have titled their projects as one identity VS the other. As the interview moves a long Nick asks Bobby Ray about the experience of working with Andre 3000, which BoB explains, had been in the works for a while. www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with all four members of Slaughterhouse (Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9"). In part 1 of this interview Nick Huff Barili asks Slaughterhouse about the new album and if they are looking to make it more introspective than their previous group album, which was extremely lyrical but lacked some of the more personal insight that made them stand out as solo artists. All four members said that you can expect a lot more personal material in the album and that you have to keep in mind that their previous album had to be done in 6 days with a stripped down budget. Slaughterhouse explain how the Shady deal is different than their previous label deals and elaborate on how they see Eminem's Role in the project. While the group says that there aren't full tracks done yet for the album, some skeletals have been built and they have had Jam session with Em. While they haven't had a chance to work with Yelawolf creatively too much they have got a chance to rock a couple shows together which has helped them build a camaraderie as Shady label mates. Nick brought up Joe Buddens' twitter post about Frank Ocean's Novacane song and immediately the group started laughing. Royce says he liked the song too but didn't want to hear it 80 times in a row (Royce and Joe were roommates for the tour).
