Navy Helicopter stunt on Lake Tahoe
A couple of Navy helicopter pilots lose control of their choppers when they tried to hover too close to the water. In this video you see one of them dunk into the water and then amazingly enough, the pilot recovers and flies out.

Similar concepts unite when Navy straps up the Nike Pro Combat system of dress on December 10th in their attempt to beat Army for the 10th-consecutive season. The uniform features the legendary Naval phrase "Don¹t Tread on Me" which is visible throughout the uniform, both on the back inner collar as well as the upper sock. The time-tested Navy anchor is also prominent on both the front collar and pant leg. Navy is known for its classic white gloves and dapper style, so the Nike Pro Combat gloves are predominantly traditional white. These interlocking gloves provide a stunning anchor visual for Navy, sure to strike fear in their Army opponents when they fittingly clash in our nation's capital on December 10. The technologically advanced Nike Pro Combat system of dress features a baselayer exemplifying the Navy Jack featuring a snakeskin look with a new modern interpretation. This first Navy Jack harkens back to the one-year anniversary of 9/11 when all US Navy ships flew the flag to honor those who were lost. Additionally, the rattlesnake features 13 layers representative of the original 13 colonies. Navy is one of nine schools wearing the 2011 Nike Pro Combat system of dress uniforms this season and will look to honor all the men and women who are serving or have proudly served our country.

Navy Tests Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS)
Courtesy: Navy Visual News Service, Naval Air Systems Command The Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) is the Navy's launch choice for Ford-class aircraft carriers, replacing steam catapults used on current and prior generations of aircraft carriers. EMALS lowers overall operating costs and reduces maintenance over current steam catapults, and provides less 'wear and tear' on carrier-based aircraft. EMALS also expands the mission envelope by launching a broader range of naval aircraft with less stress on the ship and aircraft systems. Implementation of the EMALS system for the Ford-class will meet the Navy's fixed-wing launch capability, while offering the flexibility to support future carrier air wings. EMALS technology was fundamentally proven by the Navy in 2004 using a full-scale, half-length prototype, where more than 1500 launches and armature maneuvers were conducted. Since 2008, component testing on the shipboard design has been underway, including full scale/full power tests of all components. A full scale test site at Naval Air Engineering Station Lakehurst, NJ, will be operational winter 2010. EMALS will begin operational aircraft launch testing summer 2010.
BAE Electromagnetic Railgun
A test shot fires from the Office of Naval Research-funded Electromagnetic Railgun prototype launcher located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division. The test shots begin a month-long series of full-energy tests to evaluate the technology. This prototype, developed by BAE, is the first of two industry-built launchers that will bring the Department of the Navy a step closer to producing a new-generation, long-range, weapon for surface ships.

US Navy SEALS Qualification Training (SQT)
The US Navy SEAL & SWCC Scout Team is the Official Recruiting Directorate for Naval Special Warfare. These videos are intended to provide a small glimpse into the training pipeline, preparing potential candidates for training. Please visit www.sealswcc.com for more information. SEAL Qualification Training is designed to provide students with the core tactical knowledge they will need to join a SEAL platoon. It is the intermediate skills course that prepares students for the advanced training they will receive once they arrive at a SEAL Team. SQT includes weapons training, small unit tactics, land navigation, demolitions, cold weather training in Kodiak, Alaska, medical skills and maritime operations. Before graduation, students also attend Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape training and qualify in both static-line and freefall parachute operations. Upon completing these requirements, trainees receive their SEAL Trident, designating them as Navy SEALs. They are subsequently assigned to a SEAL Team to begin preparing for their first deployment.

Lieutenant Megan Donnelly is one of the 770 women on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln. LT. MEGAN DONNELLY: "Managing 15 - 20 people on the bridge at a time, and it's my job to manage all of them for the captain so that he doesn't have to -- he can focus on the big picture." Lieutenant Donnelly studied at the United States Naval Academy. She was trained as a Navy pilot. She has won a Navy award for her leadership. In fact, she was the first woman on her ship to earn the honor. Lieutenant Nicole Rosales is the ship's only female doctor. She likes the Navy. LT. NICOLE ROSALES: "Not only did they pay for my medical school, but they offered me the opportunity to serve on a aircraft carrier and to serve in various different hospitals throughout the United States." Many women serving on the Abraham Lincoln joined the Navy as a way to support their families. Amber Mentzer wants to save money during her four-year term of service and then leave the Navy, but not because she is unhappy. PETTY OFFICER AMBER MENTZER: "You come in with a positive attitude and do what you need to do, you'll be fine. So, I don't have a problem with the workloads or anything.
