Muay Thai Deadly Skills
Note : THIS IS ONLY A DEMO!!! Muay Thai, literally Thai Boxing and also known as The Art of the Eight Limbs. The different styles of kickboxing in Southeast Asia are analogous to the different types of Kung Fu in China or Silat in the Malay world. The Thai military uses a modified form of Muay Thai called Lerdrit. The art is also known by other names in Southeast Asia such as: Pradal Serey in Cambodia, Lethwei in Myanmar, Tomoi in Malaysia, and Muay Lao in Laos. Muay Thai has a long history in Thailand and is the country's national sport. Traditional Muay Thai practiced today varies significantly from the ancient art Muay Boran and uses kicks and punches in a ring with gloves similar to those used in Western boxing. Muay Thai is referred to as "The Science of Eight Limbs", as the hands, shins, elbows, and knees are all used extensively in this art. A master practitioner of Muay Thai thus has the ability to execute strikes using eight "points of contact," as opposed to "two points" (fists) in Western boxing and "four points" (fists, feet) used in the primarily sport-oriented forms of martial arts. Muay Thai Boran "Kata"
I upload this clip as visual aid for discussion purposes. Here are 2 "kata" from Muay thai Chaiyuth. A traditional and ancient form of Muay thai (Muay Boran) as taught by Thai living national treasure Chakraphob Charoenrat. In it you can also see many techniques normally sneered at by Muay thai practitioner when they are trained by other traditional arts like karate, kungfu or TKD, such as the high X-block. It is not called a kata since that is a Japanese word, but that it what it is in all but name. You get to see the single form practice and the 2-person application practice. It is not quite as formalized & ritualized as Japanese Kata, but you have to be blind not to see the relationship between the two training methods.
Sanda vs Muay Thai: Liu Hailong vs Robert Kaenorrasing Part 1
Sanda vs Muay Thai Guangzhou, China 75kgs Punching, kicking, knees, elbows & throws. Elbow pads worn. Clinch time is shorter than standard Muay Thai match. This is Round 1 & 2. This was last match of the first China vs Thailand where elbows were allowed (elbow pads were worn though). Liu Hailong was former Sandawang. The Thai's name was given as Phinit Somphet in the match but on a website his name was given as Lukpoei Grabangkoei. Several people have identified him as Robert Kaenorrasing and I think it is him as well so I've edited the name for this clip.

Muay Thai Wai Kru Ram Muay Ceremony
Muay Boran (Thai: มวยโบราณ, lit. "ancient boxing") is an umbrella term for the unarmed martial arts of Thailand prior to the introduction of modern equipment and rules. It is the ancestor of modern Muay Thai. The word muay which means boxing comes from the Sanskrit term mavya, while boran or boraan means ancient in Thai. The art is significantly different from its modern descendent. Whereas Muay Thai is often called the "science of eight limbs", muay boran is said to make use of nawa awut which means nine weapons and refers to the hands, legs, elbows, knees and head.
