The LDS church is losing members at record numbers. Link to Reuters Article. www.reuters.com No suprises there. I once investigated and attended the church for two years. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the church leadership manipulates and deceives it's membership and the public alike with it's teaching manuals. I have alot of their manuals and they are whitewashed with a deceptive history of events and omission of facts which would change dramatically how we perceive those early LDS leaders. For instance Joseph Smith was always portrayed as some ideal faithfull wonderfull monogomous husband and family man? The real Joseph Smith was more like a husband from hell in my opinion and not like I was taught in church. Yes, many of the ordinary members are just sincere people and I feel sorry for them and feel they deserve better than they are getting. A minority of them are dangerous deluded religious Idiots though.

As regards the programme, it is revealing that one of the leaders had a slip of the tongue in calling President Obama, "Osama". Also it is of interest to me - other than the outlandish shunning pantomime, an obdurate religio-playact conducted and control managed also in the Jehovah's Witness Watchtower cult of practising 'shunning' of members. This is a silly, jesterish deprivation device to imply by gag, and to belittle & tactically diminish the person that they have fallen out of favour with something perceived as estimable and those holding up its (interpreted) value system. Do leaders or 'elders' get shunned? And is it ever given regard that bible directives note 'allow yourself to be wronged' as well as removing people from the 'church' by excommunication. Which one has precedence over the other?, how is the balance of those 2 dynamics arrived at.? Love the higher law, that believes and endures all things, is clearly relegated in the modern 'church', and i ask how and who is going to shun out these leaders who are 'shunning' members, members of their personal church whom ironically fulfil scripture by sinning. "I think it's definitely possible to be a libertarian and a Mormon," says Dustin Peterson, BYU-Idaho student and board member of Latter-Day Saints for Ron Paul. Peterson, who spent time volunteering for the Paul campaign in Iowa, spoke with Reason.tv while in Spokane, WA about why Ron Paul might take Mormon votes away from the only Mormon in the race. While many political analysts believe Mitt Romney has a near-monopoly on the Mormon vote, Ron Paul has spent considerable time courting LDS members living in Western caucus states like Nevada and Idaho (which happen to be the states where he performed best in 2008). While he expects most Mormons to fall into line behind Romney, Peterson says Mormons have many reasons to support Ron Paul, including theological ones. "Within our faith, there's a concept called 'agency,' and that's close to liberty," says Peterson. "We're taught to make choices and to decide based on our agency." While Peterson believes that Mitt Romney will still win most of the Mormon vote, he's hopeful about the future. "About half the students at BYU-Idaho are Ron Paul supporters, and the other half support Mitt Romney," Peterson says. HOWARD, Wis. -- A tense moment transpired during a town hall hosted by Mitt Romney today in Wisconsin when an audience member began reading verses from the Book of Mormon and questioned Romney on his stance on interracial relationships. When a man's hand shot up in the air to ask a question, Romney seemed to take note that he was holding papers, typically a sign that the questioner has a long-winded question they've chosen to write out, and as the man began to speak remarked, "I know where this is going.
