Then move your right foot slightly ahead of your left while keeping both feet on the ground. Step 3: Raise your heel Raise your right heel so that your weight is on the ball of your right foot. Step 4: Lower the right heel Begin to lower your right heel to the ground, while simultaneously sliding your left foot back along the floor until your left toes are next to the heel of your right foot. The achieved effect gives the impression that someone is walking forward on a backwards-moving conveyer belt. 1. The moonwalk is based on changing weight on your feet. Your back foot will go up ball like depicted in the image to the right. 2. As you put your heel down, you will push your other foot back by sliding it across the floor. 3. Then switch your weight again to the opposite foot and drag your foot again. Though the sliding foot will be flat on the ground, there shouldn't be any weight on it so that you can smoothly. As some people already know, a dance move called the moonwalk (aka backslide) had been existed before it became the "moonwalk". The video features the ancient moonwalkers and other greats who possibly influenced MJ's style of dancing. The most well-known dancer as the "orignal moonwalker" should be Bill Bailey who performed it in the film Showtime At The Apollo (1955), which was also featured in the movie Tap (1989).
