Moog Moogerfooger MF-107 FreqBox Guitar Demo

I got tired of watching demos for the Moog FreqBox where studio cats were simply running a drum machine through it and tweaking the knobs without EXPLAINING anything, so I wanted to really describe what it can do. This is my first guitar gear demo, so any questions, comments, and constructive criticism are appreciated.

Moogerfooger Bass Murf - First impressions

I just got this Bass Murf and I'm just running through some settings with my Rickenbacker. Sounds pretty good. I'll upload more as I discover tones/the best way to mess with this pedal.

Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux (Demo)

New for 2011, the MF-108M Cluster Flux is a flanger / chorus / vibrato unit using Bucket Brigade Delay lines and an upgraded LFO. There's so much power packed into this pedal that I decided I'll be making a second video to cover what this doesn't, including more demonstrations of the Random/Stepped feature, the LFO Rate knob's extreme settings, as well as the rear panel Feedback Insert and CV control (EP-2, LFO Out from MF-102). I currently do not own any MIDI gear and unfortunately will not be able to demonstrate how to reach the C.Flux's hidden parameters. Constructive criticism is welcomed. Enjoy! --Nick

SleepDrone vs FreqBox (Moogerfooger Fight)

Please check out my new Myspace site when you get a chance. The project goes by the name "Mr. Dithers." thanks! www.myspace.com This was originally 20 minutes long so I had to chop it up for You Tube. The Sleepdrone was my main sound source - its four oscillators modulated each other in interesting ways. That was fed into the FreqBox with its own oscillator which refused to play nice. I tamed the whole thing a bit with the Lowpass Filter but that was fed into the Ring Modulator which stirred up the insurgency all over again. That was fed into the Virus where I used its Phase Shifter. Roland SH-32 drums. That's a crazy woman at the train station in lower downtown Denver. she was coming up to people and saying all sorts of insane things. She approached me and began talking about her "private parts" and how they suffered when she didn't follow a strict hygiene regimen. I was able to get some video before security escorted her out.

Moog Voyager with Moogerfoogers "VCF, RingMod, Phaser" 1 of 2

DISCLAIMER: This is not a performance or demonstration of my musical ability. This is a demo of gear features, by a gear geek, for other gear geeks. If you are looking for less talking and more music this is not the place for you. I rant, I editorialize, and I generally BS my way through this for 20 minutes of self-important rambling. But some may enjoy it. Mom says, if you don't like it, change the channel. Thanks and with respect, Thomas. VIDEO OVERVIEW: In these videos you will find a demonstration of how Moogerfooger Analog Effects pedals can be integrated with the external input of the Moog Voyager, original and Old School. The ultimate goal is to demonstrate how the MF-101 Low Pass Filter, MF-102 Ring Modulator, MF-103 Phase Shifter and MF-107 Freqbox can be integrated via the Ext Input Jack to serve as additional oscillator sources in the audio spectrum. Basic patching for all patches involve pitch CV Out of the Voyager feeding the Freq CV Input of each device to control pitch. Some Moogerfoogers track better than others, but you may be able to see something useful in all of them. Part 1 includes an overview of the MF-101 Low Pass Filter, MF-102 Ring Mod, and MF-103 Phase Shifter. Part 2 includes the much debated MF-107 FreqBox and a demonstration of how it tracks pitch as a 4th VCO into the Voyager specifically. (Nicely I might add, although not perfectly for more than a couple of octaves). These units were chosen due to having an oscillator out and frequency ...

Moogerfooger Salad - "A Requiem For Junito"

One lo-fi electronic improvisation using one Moog collection of electronic toys. If you have enough patience to keep watching, you'll see me pulling up my stupid pants at around 5:39. Now, I shall call this tune "A Requiem For Junito", for it just happens that a dear friend of mine just passed away last Saturday the 19th (of November that is). Luis "Junito" Figueroa gave me my first opportunity to taste, glimpse, and partake in NYC 20 years ago, and I'll ever be grateful for his support and friendship.

Moogerfooger CV: MF-102 Ring Modulator Carrier In (Demo)

The carrier oscillator in the Moogerfooger Ring Modulator can be reset by an outside audio source. Here it is being done with the Moogerfooger FreqBox (with additional voltage control!) and an Etherwave Standard theremin.

moogerfooger madness

a few more moogs in the bunch i think the patch is the LFO into the ringmod, the carrier out of the ringmod into the sweep in of the phaser the LFO out of the phaser into the cutoff of the filter and the env out of the filter into the freq in of the ringmod, its also fun with the carrier out into the 102 and the 102's LFO into the sweep in or the sweep of the phaser, or i guess carrier in into the sweep in and the LFO in the sweep with a guitar as the signal, no fuzz this time though i love playing with these in the dark you can probably tell why, i'll be happy to answer any questions you may have about this set up although like most things modular you'll never get the same exact thing twice

Loopstation vs the Moogerfooger bass Murf

Today I came to the studio after dinner so I only had a handful of hours to work...so I decided to do some rough mixes on the Wendy McNeill stuff. After I was finished with that I had some time over and decided to make some films highlighting some of the filters and effects of the studio. To simplify things I recorded four different sounds into the Boss loopstation. 1. A telecaster small picking thing. 2. A korg KR-55 drum machine. 3. A linguaphone course in english 4. Mellotron clarinets. These were then treated through different pedals and filters... If you despite these films want to find out more about the studio where they were filmed...please stroll by www.roth-handle.nu for more info. Thanks for watching, Mattias

Rendezvous - Studio Session 12 (Moogerfooger)

In this clip Itai and Hagai are experimenting with Moog's Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter (MF-101) and Ring Modulator (MF-102) on the bass line of 'End Of The World', the last recorded track from their upcoming album. Rendezvous themselves are a two piece band consisting of Itai Simon and Hagai Izenberg. their work can be easily cataloged as instrumental and experimental, bringing together both retro sounds and ideas to this electronic contemporary world. Highly appreciated mixer and producer Dave Bascombe (Depeche Mode, Tears For Fears) is now mixing Rendezvous' debut album in London. More information at : www.rendezvousmusic.co.uk

Moog Moogerfooger MF-103 12 Stage Phaser Demo

Hi this my first pedal demo. The point of this is I didn't think there was a demo that explained the pedal in detail. I hope this did the pedal justice. The Moog Phaser is a 100% Analog phaser. It has 6 knobs and 2 switches. Amount, Rate, Lo/Hi, Sweep, Resonance, 6 Stage/12 Stage, Output Level and Drive. It has 9 jacks: Output, Input, Sweep In, Aux Out, LFO Out, Resonance, Rate, Amount, and Sweep. It uses a 12 volt power supply. Special Thanks: My dad for filming and my brother for occasionally talking in the background.

moogerfoogers controlled by Reason 4.0

www.peff.com moogerfooger MF-107 FreqBox and MF-101 LP Filter controlled by Reason to create a monophonic moogerfooger synthesizer. The Thor Polysonic synthesizer converts MIDI and Reason CV signals into DC signals like MOTU Volta, and using a MOTU 896HD interface, the control signals are routed to the moogerfoogers. The Thor programming matrix allows the signals to be scaled so that the oscillator responds to a musical scale. Also used is a MF-104Z Analog Delay.

The Utopia synth vs the Moogerfooger Bass murf

Theinteresting thing about having a studio is that you never really know what is going to happen. Like last night...I had a booked session with one of the bands I am currently working with and noone showed up. This is the kind of thing that makes my head crack sideways but...It gave me 30 minutes extra to mumble around with some of my new pedals and my old digital camera for some more little films. These films are all based around a handful of pedals. The main sound sourse is the Utopia synth which has rapidly become one of my favorite pedals. This has a lot to do with its unpredictablity, it's slightly sensitive tuning problems and the fact that it sounds kind of horrible a lot of the time which becomes a challenge iof you want to make anything remotely musical with it and nort just " drone " music or Noise stuff which I really don't know what it is but it is apparently very popular amongst young men with modified speak & spells in the US This film was of course recorded at my little studio. It is called Roth Händle and is located in Stockholm in a small quaint scandinvaian country called Sweden. If you are curious about the studio please take a stroll by www.roth-handle.nu for some blogging and general infoness

Kalimba x Moogerfoogers x Multi-Pedal

Run anything through your Moogerfoogers (even Kalimbas!) to create more dynamic soundscapes. In this video, a sample and hold waveform from the Multi-Pedal modulates the oscillator frequency of the Ring Mod while it creates aural cascades by controlling the feedback of the Analog Delay.

moog etherwave plus and moogerfooger freqbox

this is a demonstration (again, sorry for the lazy-pitch effects of not practicing enough!) of some things you can do with the freqbox pitch controlled by the cv pitch out of the etherwave plus. unfortunately, the microphone of the little flipvideo camcorder i have is really not ideal for this sort of thing, so as i pass into the screeching frequency range of the flipvideo mic, it gets a little ear-shattering... doh!

MK II moving violins through Moogerfooger bass murf

Yesterday was a really interesing day in a lot of ways...I started out by recording some drums for my good friend Niclas Criborn. Doing some pitch experiments and moogerfoogering. Then two friends from Västerås and brought a large synthesizer.com system for me to try out so that I would get a better understanding of how they work as I have been curious about them for years. Sadly enough the experience left me impressed, inspired and utterly confused. So to round off the day I thought I could make some standard films of pedals trying to show and demonstrate a bit how they work. Usually when people do this they use a drum machine or a arpggiated synth so I thought that maybe I could do something a bit different...so I recorded a little loop into a Boss loopstation of the Mellotron MK II strings and then tried that through a bunch of pedals. This film was shot at the Roth Händle studios in stockholm with a simple Nokia phone. The studio is filled with odd and interesting instruments including Mellotrons, optigans and piles of other analog goodies. In Review: Moogerfooger MF-108M Cluster Flux

Moot Booxlé gives an in-depth look at the newest addition to Moog Music's Moogerfooger line of effects, the MF-108M Cluster Flux. It's a fully analog chorus/flange stompbox which is also fully MIDI-controllable. It's also (understandably) quite expensive. More is Less: Moogerfoogers vs the kitchen sink

A couple more toys, some new ones, some old ones. A couple more noises, some cool, some annoying. A couple minutes too much, it gets quite repetative. Everything was recorded in one take, no overdubs. MPC1000 sequences the MBase01 and triggers the DSI Evolver which also sequences my Paia 9700s modular synth. LFOs cross modulate throughout, everything tried to sync itself to the main beat of the MBase01 by tracking the envelope that the FIltered Coffee generates. Pretty much, this is most my current analog gear working together. Moogerfooger FreqBox Humbucker Music

This is a brief demo of one of the coolest pedals in the Moogerfooger line. The Freqbox invites you to think "outside the box," allowing the musician to create sounds he or she has not yet imagined. I ordered this baby from Humbucker Music in Ft. Ogelthorpe, Georgia. No, I hadn't heard of the place either until I did some research on Orange amps and the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo (look for an upcoming video). The thing I like about the people at Humbucker is they are totally pro and very passionate about music. I have had nothing but great experiences when dealing with them. So many music stores seem to just be interested in "moving boxes." These guys really try to connect with what you are doing and are always helping you make the best musical choices - not just sell you whatever is on the floor. humbuckermusic.com

Maceo Parker Improv Experiment w/Moogerfoogers

Maceo Parker came to visit the Moog factory in Asheville, NC last week and treated us to an impromptu improv in the Moog Sound Lab. While Maceo wailed away we couldn't resist filtering and modulating his sound through the Moogerfoogers. Beginning with the natural sound of Maceo's Fresh N' Funky Alto Sax, we quickly hurdle into another dimension by adding the MF-101 Low Pass Filter to the mix. Crankin' on the Cutoff knob of the MF-101 Low Pass Filter draws out an analog "Wah" that allows for additional sonic articulations -- say, "Wah-wah What?!?" It is recommended to keep the Resonance & Mix on the high side to bring out the most color when using this charismatic extension of your horn's voice. The MF-102 Ring Modulator, and MF-103 12-Stage Phaser are being used here to add anywhere from subtle tremolo effects, to mild grit to the tones being passed from the MF-101 Low Pass Filter, and MF-104Z Analog Delay. The root of all Space-Funk is in our MF-104Z Analog Delay -- setting the Delay Time knob to a desirable tempo/pulse, and the Feedback knob to the desirable echo length, gives Maceo an analog canvas to work with that he can both apply color to, and take color from -- watch as he pauses to explore his audio imprint, then snatches it back to shape again. Rocking on the Delay Time switch, and tweaking the Delay Time knob at the end of Maceo's phrases twists his sound to an otherworldly degree, creating a stunning sonic vertigo. Where will our Moogerfoogers take your horn?
