The time spent on this was enormous, if you could LIKE & FAVOURITE the video that would be amazing! For those complaining it is ALL dropzone: 32 clips in dropzone 18 clips in other game modes (Domination, TDM, Kill Confirmed) I like to play dropzone, it makes the gameplay more exciting and fights for the objective; as the game was intended. The first clip I got for this montage was the M4 clip on the day of release. I've been playing and recording the montage on and off ever since that day until yesterday. Editing for this took just under a month. I originally started an edit to Coldplay's paradise but figured the copyright would get me into trouble. So I decided to do a different one, with a different idea. I realised I wasn't going to get the most insane clips, nor was I going to produce some insane editing. So I decided to take a different approach and you have what you see before you. Song: "Can't take my eyes off you", performed by Manic Street Preachers and also by Muse. This is a tribute to the wink of complicity from the filmmakers to the audience when they make actors look straight into the camera. It is not a tribute to scenes where the fourth wall is broken (when a character adresses the audience directly), some clips in the video belong to that category but most of them don't cause it is not what we wanted to show. There are 148 different clips in this video, but at first we had selected more than 200 films. We left out dozens of scenes on purpose, cause we didn't want a 15 minutes montage. For example, we decided not to include the "found footage" genre, cause everyone looks at the camera in this type of movies (like Cloverfield). And also musical numbers, where it's very common that the actors look at the camera while singing. And, obviously, there are many more films missing cause we didn't know them. This animation was created by Alex Kobbs for the opening of the 15th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards.The musical score is an original piece named "Roll the Dice," which was composed specifically for this animation by Glen Ballard (yes...THE Glen Ballard). The event was hosted by Jay Mohr, and held during the 2012 DICE Conference in Las Vegas, NV. The film was projected onto 3 giant stage screens to an audience of roughly 700 individuals, most of whom were/are leaders in the video game industry. I didn't use Braveheart because the dvdrip was very poor, and I didn't use Gladiator because there's only very few scenes with a huge epic army (in the very beginning) and those shots aren't that good. Why did I use the cinematic trailers from Warcraft 3 and WoW? When I made this montage Beowulf (the movie) was around. I decided to use some stuff from this movie - but when I went away from it again because - I did though continue with the idea about CGI and therefore I chose to use the stuff from W3 and WoW. I thought those running scenes from W3 was awesome and there's some cool shots in the WoW cinematics. Remember this montage was about the first of it's kind in youtube (if not the first) and there's always something negative to say about videos.
