Dubai Airports Flash Mob
Dubai Airports successfully orchestrated a flash mob showcasing the talents of 55 dancers in Terminal 1 on October 26. The project, which also involved DDF and flydubai, was a key element in a promotional campaign designed to heighten awareness for the recently launched DXB Connect, the world's first Airport Prepaid Mastercard, now on sale at Dubai Duty Free. Not only did it surprise and delight passengers in the airport who witnessed the 'live' version, the video has also gone viral via social media.

The flash mob was created in collaboration with Radio Klassisk radioklassisk.dk All music was performed and recorded in the metro. That's why the recording you hear is so clean and crisp - and the sound is actually surprisingly good in the Copenhagen metro. We did this deliberately because we feel that a good sound experience is vital when trying to portray the actual experience that day. Further to the main recording, when the train was standing still, the recordings from the cameras was, as far as possible, mixed into the sound. Quote from the sound technician: I recorded the sound with XY Oktava MK-012 supercardioid microphones close to the soloists and a set of DPA 4060 omnidirectional microphones as overhead for the rest of the orchestra. For some of the closeupshots, the cameramikes (Sennheiser ME 66) was added.

Man Beaten By Mob In Critical Condition
wkrg.com Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he's in critical condition. According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink. Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens. Owens' sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. "It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed." Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using "brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on." Police will only say "multiple people" are involved. What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said "Now thats justice for Trayvon." Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida. Police canvassed the area, but did not find any suspects. Tulip Time visitors who watched the famed Dutch Dancers were surprised by an unexpected and non-traditional happening. As the Dutch Dance music ended and the dancers began to disperse, more music, a re-mix of Ray Charles by Opiuo (www.opiuo.com), came from the speakers. The dancers then launched into a routine that showed some elements of the traditional klompen dance but, had a very different twist. The dance extended East and West from its 8th Street & Central beginning. Soon, onlookers were moved to follow the 2012 Tulip Time Festival theme and "Join the Dance". Between 150 to 200 participants ventured into the street as the dance performance became a festival flash mob experience. While the new dance may have appeared to be totally spontaneous, considerable planning went into it beginning as early as February. Upward of 100 Dutch Dancers and community members ranging in age from 9 to 70 rehearsed the routine choreographed and directed by Linda Graham, Chair of the Department of Dance at Hope College. Graham has experience in other large community participation dance events such as the June, 2011 Global Water Dance at Tunnel Park in which dancers all over the world performed the same movements at the same time to call attention to the need for safe water everywhere. Graham, along with festival supporter Ken Freestone, was instrumental in getting the project off the drawing board, and with the enthusiastic involvement of the Dutch Dance organization, making it a reality ...

Inspired by the Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus, the Television Broadcasting students at Algonquin College wanted to showcase the new Algonquin Centre for Construction Excellence by lightening the mood with the help of the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir and Darth Vader. Thank you to ORYC Manager, Valerie Jerabek and Director, Kevin Reeves for agreeing to participate in this crazy idea. Thank you to the choir itself, for sharing their beautiful voices and for not minding that we subbed in a Sith Lord as conductor 45 minutes before the performance. Thank you to all the students who helped out and in particular to Television student Shane Webster who ontop of helping organizing was running back and forth from the hospital expecting his first child. On 10th February 2012 sharp 4:00pm at Pitt Street Mall one of the busiest places in Sydney City, Australia, 50 plus people gathered with a single crazy idea....to dance. To dance on the tune of Kolaveri Di. With this performance Sydney Asserts its stamp on the World as one of the most happening cities. This is our contribution to our city. This song has been 'Flash Mobbed' in several cities and this is our homage to the song and also to the bollywood culture that is so close to our heart. I hope that we do justice to the participants... Some danced for the first time. Some who travelled hours with little kids. Some who who stood waiting in the rain. Some who said "This process has just boosted my confidence generally". Some who said "I feel I am alive again" Some who wept and said "I have never been this happy" I never quite understood what living in the moment means but if I ever did live in the moment, I can safely say it lasts for 4mins and 50secs.
