mindstorms
My LEGO Mindstorms Creations
Before getting into competition battling robots I played a lot with LEGO Mindstorms. The toy helped me learn a lot about mechanics that we applied to building our robots.

Lego Mindstorm robot plays connect four
Constructed and programmed by Arthur van Hoff using Lego Mindstorms. It uses a one mind, three motors, two rotational sensors, one optical sensor. LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 CNC mill
This is a demonstration of my simple Mindstorm 3-axis milling machine. This model was the first one i built with the NXT (excluding the practice models on the software disc). The programs used in this video is very very simple since i haven't yet learned the more advanced programing features off the software on the disc. I will probably upload videos on future projects if i fell like or if the response on this video is reasonable ;).
RoboFlush: The Lego Mindstorms NXT Toilet Flushing Robot

CubeStormer
The Worlds Fastest Lego Mindstorms RCX Speedcubing Robot. Built entirely from lego elements with a lego web camera to scan the faces of the cube, The solve engine (algorithm) running on the computer is provided by the incredible "Cube Explorer "software which also provides the colour recognition required to determine the exact location of each coloured square. Thanks to Herbert Kociemba for making his work available to anyone wishing to use it! Respect! "Cube Explorer" has the ability to produce very fast solutions to a successfully scanned cube, usually around 20 face turns! Doesn't sound a lot , but it has been proven that 20 turns are enough to solve ANY 3x3x3 cube combination. Special thanks to David Gilday for his assistance with the software interface to "Cube Explorer."

LEGO Mindstorms NXT: A Brief Introduction & Tutorial Part 1
This is part 1 of a brief introduction and tutorial to LEGO Mindstorms NXT. Topics discussed are (1) what is included with the NXT robotics kit and (2) how to build a simple NXT robot. See part 2 for a look at (3) programming an NXT robot and (4) testing an NXT robot. www.youtube.com This was my topic of choice when given an instructional video assignment in one of my college courses. lego mindstorms NXT robots football
football of lego robots. final exercise of adaptive robots course. that was fun :). Our robot starts on the right. they are definitely NOT remote controlled, that's kinda the whole idea that the should be autonomous, or at least we tried to make them as autonomous as possible. the robot has a color camera (that is not a standard lego thing, we connected it via i2c), a compas, a radar and a light detector.
A Kinect-controlled LEGO MindStorms tribot
A gesture-controlled robotic vehicle. EDIT: both in the video and in the description below, I incorrectly attribute the OpenNI library to National Instruments, while "NI" actually stands for "Natural Interaction". The LEGO libraries, on the other hand, are made available by National Instruments. The two independent motors are controlled by my arms, as if I was handling two levers (as seen in some escavators and in tanks). Implemented with some C/C++ code, using open libraries to acquire Kinect input (National Instruments' OpenNI + OpenKinect), for body tracking (by PrimeSense) and for controlling the LEGO MindStorms NXT kit (again, National Instruments' OpenNI + Fantom). See rasomuro.org for details!
Lego Mindstorms NXT Segway
This is a direct copy of Phillippe Hurbain's NXTWay which imitates a Segway using the NXT. This is a very plucky version that always tries to move forward. Links and details at www.robotthoughts.com

LEGO® MINDSTORMS NXT camera dolly
The NXT Dolly is a programmable camera dolly system for smooth camera movements based on LEGO® MINDSTORMS NXT. It runs on rails and can either be programmed or controlled by a remote control. The dolly can be run seamlessly along the rails. The camera can be rotated and moved up and and down. Each of these movements is independent from the other ones and can be adjusted in speed and duration. Different sensors can be mounted on the dolly to support the programmatic control of the camera movements or to light the environment. The length and direction of the rails can be adjusted to allow for arbitrary tracking shots. Visit also my MINDSTORMS-related web site at mynxt.matthiaspaulscholz.eu

Faster Lego Mindstorms NXT T-Shirt Folding Machine

Valk's LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Printer going serious
I made a JAVA program for the NXT 2.0 Printer found in the book "The Unofficial LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Inventor Guide" by Perdue and Valk. In the video it draws my logo. The offset errors in the drawing are due to the tyre slippage on paper and on the horizontal beam.

Lego Mindstorms NXT T-Shirt Folding Machine
My Lego Mindstorms NXT T-Shirt Machine. It is based on the following videos: www.youtube.com www.youtube.com I put one-second delays between each stage of the folding sequence. In reality, the robot can do it much faster than seen here if I remove the delays. My roommates and I actually just fold our T-shirts without the NXT attached. The NXT integration was just to show that T-shirt folding can be partially automated. The faster version: www.youtube.com
