Racial riots hit Milwaukee

Outside Milwaukee, riots broke out at the Wisconsin State fair earlier this month. It was alleged that hundreds of young black people were attacking white people randomly on the streets. The media has turned a blind eye to these unsettling events. Does this have anything to do with black male unemployment in the area? Heyy there! I just wanted to take a minute or four to share a little with you about my Wisconsin personal appearance! I started out at 8am in Los Angeles, got caught in snow and other miscellaneous setbacks and finally checked in around 8pm, Wisconsin time! On the plane, I read some scripts for voice over work, studied the new script for this upcoming week, answered some fan mail, worked on planning my Sweet Sixteen, and got ready to hang out with some Wisconsinite fans! This week, I'm so excited to be going to the Jonas Brother's 3D movie premiere! As well as doing some voice over fun, and then quickly unpacking and repacking to head off to another appearance, plus interview stuff, in New York City on the 3rd! I promise, I'm working on the fan mail you guys!! It's important to me to get it all read and pictures and autos sent but I dont have as much free time as it requires. But I AM making it a priority! Empire Builders to Milwaukee

Privately run intercity passenger service in Milwaukee was a thing of the past by early 1971. The Federal government had formed Amtrak to remove the burden of passenger service from the railroads and insure that core passenger routes remained active. By May 1st, when Amtrak rolled into Milwaukee, things had changed. Milwaukee Road's Hiawatha and C&NW's bi-level Streamliners were out, but Amtrak's Empire Builder was in. Direct rail service was now available all the way to Seattle, but one could no longer travel to Green Bay! All passenger service on C&NW rails was gone, but Amtrak did pick up some Chicago-Milwaukee trains over Milwaukee Road rails. These new trains looked different, too. Amtrak paint was months away and its first units were made up of mismatched heritage cars and engines that earned them the nickname "Rainbow" trains (BN green, GN orange and blue, Milwaukee yellow, Burlington silver, NP greens, and others). Their classic motive power included E-9s, F-3s, F-7s, and F-9s. Empire Builders to Milwaukee takes you back to the six months preceding and following the start of Amtrak service in Milwaukee. You'll view the Morning Hiawatha and the C&NW bi-level Streamliners during their last winter and spring of operations as well as Amtrak's new Empire Builder and Chicago-Milwaukee corridor service. Milwaukee Police Motorcycle Roll Call at Harley-Davidson Museum

May is motorcycle safety month and when the warm weather finally arrives, there will be motorcycles all around in Milwaukee, home of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The Milwaukee Police Department's Motorcycle Unit is out, as well. As one of few police departments nationwide that has been exclusively riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles for 102 years, Chief Flynn was joined for his hallmark Roll Call in the Street, by Bill Davidson, vice president of the Harley-Davidson Museum, and Willie G. Davidson as the Chief conducted Roll Call for MPD motorcycle officers. Watch the video and feel like you were there! About 30 Milwaukee Police motorcycle officers rode in formation into the Museum parking lot and lined up for roll call by Chief Flynn. They stood at attention for inspection of the troops by MPD commanders, joined by Bill Davidson and Willie G. Additionally, Bill Davidson addressed the officers before they were dismissed to hit the streets for patrol. The motorcycle unit has changed focus under Chief Flynn. The motorcycles, previously used almost exclusively for traffic enforcement, are now a key to the department's strategy to reduce crime, fear and disorder in the city's challenged neighborhoods. These officers make traffic stops in the city's "hotspots" and have taken guns, drugs and dangerous criminals off the streets.
