Bold and Vaccum Tubes settings at the back. Mic'd with a SM57 straight into the cone of a Celestion Vintage 30 speaker(Harley Benton Cab). Guitar is ESP Eclipse II with JB Pickup. The melody itself is really gorgeous, and it simply speaks to you. I actually remember dreaming about this song, cause it has such an impact on me I actually woke up that night and started to play it on my guitar. Besides, am I the only one that feels the music of "Embodiment of Scarlet Devil" has some special charm none of the others Window games have? Everytime I listen to the original EoSD song it gives me this "90's" sound, full of charm and nostalgia from games and anime of that album. I don't know how to explain it, but EoSD soundtracks feels kind of warm, and by any means I consider one of the flags of ZUN music. It is no secret by now that some of my favorite touhou music is from the PC-98 era (my favorite ZUN song is from there), but If I had to pick 1 set of music to let people know the name "ZUN" it would be without a doubt the soundtrack of EoSD. Please note I am not saying the others soundtrack are bad. In fact, PcB soundtrack I consider it a beautiful work, so does the soundtrack of any other game. However, after some time you will understand that Taka's idea was incredible. I enjoy a lot this album because, the CROW really managed to turn things upside down for ZUN's music. It's true that ZUN's composition are inspired from jazz and classic, even progressive rock at some point. However Taka's work to transform everything into genres like Southern Rock, Blues, and Rock and Roll are worth to mention, it's just something you need to have on your collection. On the recent EP CROW'sCLAW released, there were a lot of references to this kind of work. Gradually, Taka's work has gone heavier and heavier. We first had "Frozen Frog" that is what I just explained. Then "Crossfire Barrage", breaking into the realms of Heavy Metal, and finally "Brutal Games of Reminding Death" that featured very agressive riffs, a really heavy distorted guitar, and trash (as in the genre) drum work. They tend to include both Techno and Classical pieces in their few albums, and from time to time they like to add a bit of metal elements to both. But this one in particular, was a very different one since it was their first attempt on releasing a full metal song, including some really beautiful classic elements. Simply the intro is awesome, and the signature koto played on the original song is played on real guitar in this one. Actually I consider that is the best part of the song, as no one else has done it this way. I'm not very fond to the mix tho, the treble is flying around everywhere, and it can cause some pain to your ears. Bach (not nicknamed by that for any reason), returns once again under the THOUDAND LEAVES circles. This time "END OF ENDLESS NIGHT" is an album made all by himself, featuring once again the voice of "doomage" Abecky. While this channel is focused on MOSTLY instrumental music, there isn't much to say about the voice, but there is sure a lot to say about Bach. I don't quite know for sure, but I believe this is the first album totally made by Bach this time, and it's full of neo classical shred you could ever ask for. Recently, there has been some criticizing about IRON ATTACK!, making all sound the same. I don't know if it's because of the rush, but without doubt IRON ATTACK! seems now like a mass producer of Touhou Neo Classical where sometimes it rips too much other artist (oh the banning...). Title: Flame Fussion Artist: Poppo Circle: Konekodakkaiya Album: Realize Original: 霊知の太陽信仰 ～ Nuclear Fusion (Sun Worship of Gnosis ~ Nuclear Fusion) (Solar Sect of Mystic Wisdom) This little circle came up when I was looking more fresh music to share with all of you. Of course, this isn't the circle everyone has been expecting, neither it's the big suprise of the year but over all, it's good hard rock music you can listen every now and then to rest from the epicness of the rest of the circles. Now, be warned that this is the only instrumental song of the album. The rest has female vocals. They are very well excuted, and I have no complaints here. However, given my condition of suffering with 90% of the vocalist of this planet, it's not an album I would listen to every day. But we will talk about that on a later video, about the current situation of Touhou Metal, where almost every metal circle has kept adding more and more vocals. It is very impressive that one of my favorite Touhou songs is now one of the most covered in metal. I don't know if it's just pure luck, or if Nuclear Fusion really does have a "similar" structure to metal songs that made me so additive to it. Talking about songs that does have a clearly metal influence, "Suwa Foughten Field" is the first one that comes to my mind, and it is no suprise why almost every metal circle to this day has paid tribute to this wonderful song. Title: Scarlet Chain Artist/Circle: 彩音 ～xi-on～ Album: 東方志奏 9th Spell -Cardinal Red- Original: 亡き王女の為のセプテット(Septette for the Dead Princess), UNオーエンは彼女なのか？(UN Owen was Her?) I'm also very happy to see this time the album is completely rock and metal. Well, the last track features a classy piano, but the rest of it is made out of crunchy riffs (and yes, there is your "Maid and the Pocket Watch of Blood" remixed with the usual techno/metal formula), loud bass and insane drumming. This is actually one of the things I love about xi on, it isn't only raw metal (witch don't take me wrong, sometimes I love listening to some Megadeth, Black Label Society, Ozzy Osbourne etc) but that the composition levels goes beyond the limit. Perhaps is due to the jazzy influence the guys at xi on work out, but their songs always enjoy of this "progressive" flavor that puts them over the top in my list. Actually, I believe that what xi on aims is to enter in the "fusion" kind of genre. This fusion genre is the one that mixes...well pretty much all the stuff out there. Jazz, Classical, Metal (and in strange cases techno) into one song. Actually, Godspeed, the virtuoso ghost loves to do that kind of thing. His favorite artist fell in this genre, and he always aim to do it. Returning to xi on, this album is top notch. You can't go wrong with it and trust me its a must have in your collection.
