"Around 400 people were being allowed to enter the home", said Andre Bakker, a spokesman for the Ymere social housing company, which owns the apartment where Frank and her family lived from 1933 to 1942. Tickets priced at 7.50 euros ($A10) were mainly sold to people living in the same neighbourhood of Amsterdam-South, Bakker said. The Ymere company bought the apartment in 2004, situated in a brick building built in 1931. Restoration started in 2005 from photographs of the Frank family "to try and replicate as close as possible how they lived", Bakker said. "This is the place where Anne Frank was at her happiest, before World War II," he said, adding that with five bedrooms, a linoleum-covered floor and a terrace, it was "chic for its time". The walls are adorned with original photographs, which belonged to the Amsterdam-based Anne Frank Foundation. It is the only time Anne Frank has ever been captured on film. At the time of her wedding, the bride lived on the second floor at Merwedeplein 39. The Frank family lived at number 37, also on the second floor. The Anne Frank House can offer you this film footage thanks to the cooperation of the couple.

This short clip is from the film "Anne Frank Remembered", the 122 minute, Oscar winning documentary by Jon Blair from 1995. This is a short view inside the annexe where Anne Frank and seven other people hid for over two years because they were Jewish. Anne Frank and the others in hiding were captured in August 1944. They were sent to different concentration camps where they died. Of the eight, only Otto Frank, Anne's father, survived. A few years after his liberation, he had the diary of his young daughter, Anne, published. The diary of Anne Frank is now one of the most sold and read books in the world. De goochelaar professor Ben Ali Libi was wereldwijd trending topic op twitter naar aanleiding van onze uitzending gisteren. Topadvocaat Bram Moszkowicz sprak daarin over een gedicht van Willem Wilmink dat grote indruk op hem heeft gemaakt: 'Ben Ali Libi'. Wij lieten een fragment zien uit de documentaire 'Willem Wilmink, Dichter in de Javastraat' waar het gedicht op prachtige wijze werd voorgedragen door Joost Prinsen. Michel Velleman alias Ben Ali Libi, trok in de jaren twintig van de vorige eeuw naar Amsterdam, waar hij faam maakte als 'humoristisch goochelaar'. Hij trad toen onder meer op voor Prins Hendrik en de Duitse ex-keizer Wilhelm. Tijdens een razzia in juni 1942 werd hij samen met zijn gezin in zijn huis aan het Amsterdamse Merwedeplein opgepakt. Hij stierf in 1943 in het vernietigingskamp Sobibór. Vanavond in Pauw & Witteman spreekt kleindochter Katy Huiman-Velleman over haar grootvader Michel Velleman (alias Ben Ali Libi).
