The Prisoner, Patrick McGoohan on Original Sin/Total Depravity

"Who is Number One?!" "You are Number Six." And why did McGoohan use the number "six" for his character? The Prisoner, without question one of the most intriguing, compelling and demanding shows to ever grace the "idiot box" was shot through with all manner of Christian thought and allegory. But who knew that McGoohan was a Calvinist?! Well, I guess we shouldn't read too much into this. But it is fun to imagine....

Patrick McGoohan (March 19, 1928 - January 13, 2009)

Patrick McGoohan, television's most imaginative mind, died on Tuesday from a short illness, age 80. Fans of my own web series The Subject, will know that McGoohan's series The Prisoner, was my main inspiration. The series will continue as a tribute, to this creative actor, writer and director. Patrick McGoohan acted for almost 50 years, but his most famous roles were from 60's series Danger Man and The Prisoner. I have little knowledge of Danger Man but I intend to find out more. Enjoy clips from The Prisoner, Danger Man and pictures from his other work through the years. RIP Patrick, we'll miss you. You were more than just a number.
