My Last Flight to McGehee's Catfish Airport
Cessna Cardinal 177 RG II Flight from Arlington, Texas (KGKY) to McGehee's Catfish Restaurant Airport (T40). Last time we flew to eat dinner, shortly after this flight the runway was closed to further landings! McGehee Airport had one runway designated 17/35 with a turf surface measuring 2450 by 55 feet Will miss this airport for the challenges it offered to pilots landing and taking off. Great memories with many friends, over the years. Great catfish, but now we have to drive for the best catfish... Watch Night Take off from McGehee's: www.youtube.com
Greatest Gift Ever - Joseph "CJ" McGehee
Wow - this is must-see 16min, 44sec inspiring story of 16-year-old Joseph "CJ" McGehee's fight against deadly cancer. All credit for CJ's story goes to Michael Chriswell, a guy whose serendipitous meeting with CJ and Sandra began with a simple call off an Craigslist ad. Certainly, Michael never imagined what the Lord had in store for him and many others behind the front door of that nice, simple townhouse. **Reposted Video - this is not my video.** I'm a parent, as are many of you, and this is a parent's worst nightmare... and blessing if you are a person of faith.

Public Lecture—Printing Solar Cells for Greener Energy
Lecture Date: Tuesday, January 24, 2012. One of the greatest challenges humanity faces is finding a way to provide the world's population with clean energy. Since sunlight is our most abundant source of energy, solar cells, which absorb sunlight and create electricity, will become increasingly important over the next several decades. There have been great advances recently using silicon and thin films of semiconductors to make solar cells and solar electricity is just starting to become economically competitive. It is still important, however, to drop the costs further so that it will be possible to utilize even more solar energy. After providing an overview of the solar cell technologies that are currently commercially available, Professor McGehee will describe a relatively new approach that could make it possible to print solar cells in roll-to-roll coating machines similar to those used to make newspapers. Professor McGehee will show how solar cells can be made with organic semiconductors and explain how these cells work. Lecturer: Michael McGehee, Stanford University.

Union Pacific Yard Switching Action at McGehee, AR
We went to McGehee, AR to catch a few trains. The only thing active over a few hours time was the Local crew. These guys were very nice. We talked to the yardmaster for a while. He told us that he used to work for Missouri Pacific. He also explained to us what they were doing. They are seen here building their train and after they finished building it, they parked it at the yard office and went out to eat. A few hours later, they left McGehee, AR for Pine Bluff, AR. He also told us to feel free to take as many videos and pictures as we wanted. The Arkansas Midland yard can also be seen in this video. Units: GATX/GMTX 2157 UP 1422

Roots of Blues -- Brownie McGehee „Death Of Blind Boy Fuller"
„Death Of Blind Boy Fuller" (WB McGhee) Recorded: Chicago, May 23, 1941 Brownie McGhee (g) (vcl) (acc) Walter Brown ("Brownie") McGhee (November 30, 1915 - February 16, 1996) was a folk-blues singer and guitarist, best known for his collaborations with the harmonica player Sonny Terry He grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee and suffered from polio as a child, which incapacitated his leg. His brother Granville "Sticks" McGhee got his nickname from pushing young Brownie around in a cart. McGhee spent much of his youth immersed in music, singing with local harmony group the Golden Voices Gospel Quartet and teaching himself the guitar. A March of Dimes funded operation on his leg enabled McGhee to walk, enhancing his mobility. At the age of 22 he became a traveling musician, working in the Rabbit Foot Minstrels and meeting and befriending Blind Boy Fuller, whose guitar playing influenced him greatly. After Fuller's death in 1941, JB Long of Columbia Records had him adopt his mentor's name, branding him "Blind Boy Fuller No.2". By that time, McGhee was recording for Columbia's subsidiary Okeh Records in Chicago, Illinois, but his real success did not come until his 1942 relocation to New York City, when he officially teamed up with Sonny Terry, who he had known since 1939 as Blind Boy Fuller's harmonica player. The pairing was an overnight success, recording and touring together until around 1980. They did most of their work together from 1958 until 1980, spending eleven months of ...
