Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Garlic mashed potatoes are a delicious side dish that pair well with seafood, poultry or beef. Chef Jason Hill shows you how to make a garlic mashed potatoes recipe that you're sure to enjoy. This also goes well as a Thanksgiving side dish. This garlic mashed potato recipe uses 2 cups cream or milk 8 tablespoons butter 2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese 2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced 1 tablespoon salt, or to taste Pepper to taste Cut potatoes in half, then cut into cubes. Add potatoes to rapidly boiling water. Melt down butter in a sauce pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and stir about 2 minutes. Stir in cream. Bring cream to scalding point, stirring and watching. Do not boil over the cream or walk away. Once small bubbles start to form on the edge of pot, remove the cream mixture from heat. Set aside. Check potatoes for doneness after 20 minutes. When it breaks apart easily, they are ready, approximately 25 minutes. Strain potatoes, and then add them back into the pot. Using a wire whisk, add cream to potatoes, a little bit at a time, mashing and whisking to get the creamy consistency you want. You may not use all of the cream. Stir in grated parmesan cheese. Add about 1 tablespoon salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!

Pickett was an aspiring actor who sang with a band called The Cordials at night while going to auditions during the day. One night, while performing with his band, Pickett did a monologue in imitation of horror movie actor Boris Karloff while covering The Diamonds' "Little Darlin'". The audience loved it and co band member, Lenny Capizzi encouraged Pickett to do more with the Karloff imitation. Pickett and Capizzi composed "Monster Mash" and recorded it with Gary Paxton, Leon Russell, Johnny McCrae and Rickie Page, credited as "The Cryptkickers". This song was partially inspired by Paxton's earlier novelty hit "Alley Oop", as well as by the Mashed Potato dance craze of the era. The song is narrated by a mad scientist whose monster, late one evening, rises from a slab to perform a new dance. The dance becomes a hit when the scientist throws a party for other monsters. The producers came up with several low-budget, but effective sound effects for the recording. For example, the sound of a coffin opening was imitated by a rusty nail being pulled out of a board. The sound of a cauldron bubbling was actually water being bubbled through a straw and the chains rattling were simply chains being dropped on a tile floor. **i won the contest for October with this video! yay!! (I really didnt' expect this video to win crap, lol)** I made this to enter into the Disney Song/Movie of the Month group contest. If you don't know, that group has a contest every month with different themes to follow (they're all disney, though, of course!). This months was a Dance theme, and I figured, why not a Halloween dance? So yea, this video was made for 3 purposes. Not only to enter into that contest, but it was made as this years first Halloween video, and it also was to premier The Horned King, lol. Yes, I only used him once, but that's all I needed!!! hehe All clips belong to Disney. The song is Monstr Mash by Bobby "Boris" Picket.
