THE AVENGERS interview w/ Mark Ruffalo who plays 'The Hulk'

[BlackTree TV - Los Angeles] Entertainment Journalist Jamaal Finkley sits down with Mark Ruffalo to talk about his incarnation of The Hulk for The Avengers. After a gamma radiation experiment went awry, mild-‐ mannered scientist Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) found himself with a peculiar condition. When angered or provoked, he would transform into the uncontrollable, green-‐skinned monster known as The Hulk. Now, fearful of the damage that The Hulk could inflict, Dr. Banner chooses to live a discreet life in remote parts of the world, working to cure the sick and help the poor while trying to elude those who would take advantage of his ability to change into the enormous, green menace. When a mounting threat calls for Banner's specialized scientific expertise, SHIELD Director Nick Fury recruits him, knowing full well that the incredible strength of Banner's alter ego, The Hulk, would be an asset to The Avengers. Mark Ruffalo on The Hulk: "This Hulk is mercurial. He's very unpredictable; he's nuanced. There's a sense of humor there; there's an ability to communicate. But he's bristly and he's incredibly dangerous, like a wild animal. His rage feels real; his reactions to things feel human." The Avengers Trailer bit.ly bit.ly - Click to Subscribe! Facebook.com - Become a Fan! Twitter.com - Follow Us! Fans are rightfully excited to see the return of the Hulk in The Avengers, but the question is which Hulk will we be getting? We've got some answers from the man himself, Mark Ruffalo. Ruffalo sat down with Collider to discuss taking over the role of Bruce Banner previously played on the big screen by actor Eric Bana and more recently Edward Norton. Many fans were unhappy to say the least when it was announced Norton would not be reprising the role for The Avengers, but Ruffalo revealed that he got the support of his good friend to take over the role. So if Norton is okay with it, the fans should be too, right? As for what kind of Hulk we'll be getting this time, Ruffalo reveals that Hulk will be smarter than in previous films. We've already had a glimpse of the Hulk in action from the trailers and it does appear he isn't the mindless rage machine some moviegoers may be used to. Ruffalo explained, "I feel like we're trying to open the door to the integration of [Hulk and Bruce Banner]...I like to think of it as the guy trying to break a bucking bronco. He has some tiny little semblance of control over it but still it's completely out of his control." With the success of The Avengers pretty much guaranteed and sequels already in the works for Captain America, Thor and Iron Man, can we expect to see Hulk return in another solo film? The two previous films were ...

Message from Sean Penn read by Mark Ruffalo

Visit: www.worldcantwait.net to download video. Message from Sean Penn read by Mark Ruffalo. Excerpt: "The arrogant, the misguided, the cowards would argue that an immediate pull-out of our troops from Iraq would inspire lack of confidence and the lost credibility of the United States. President Bush and his functionaries indeed have lost enormous credibility for the perception of our country internationally. Perhaps more damaging than that, they have created the greatest cultural, religious, and political divide domestically since our own Civil War. We the people of the United States have a unique opportunity. We can show each other and the world that what the Bush administration claims is their mission is not ours. And, by leading our country as a citizenry and demanding of our government an immediate end to our own military and profit investments in Iraq, display for the entire world that democracy is a government of the people. What more powerful message to send the world than that we ourselves can choose -- in policy, in peace, and in humanitarian support..."
