I was just randomly wondering today, does anyone actually read the video description ? hmm.. well anyway, this is a little video for my song ' avalanche' which will be going to radio in oct.... please request it at your local station !!! Avalanche is about a crumbling relationship... I remember feeling a little hopeless on the day I was writing this song. I felt like I was ready to put it everything , all my energy into someone and it wasn't clear if that feeling was being reciprocated... But I think we've all felt that at one time or another. It's rare for the commitment and feelings from both sides to match..but when it does, it's magical. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video which incorporates a lot of footage from my promo tour in japan.. It's not quite the 'official' video but it's pretty cool in my opinion ;) in the meanwhile, in stead of just making a music video, i'm working on a very exciting movie project which will use all the songs from my new album ' breathing underwater'. more details coming soon xo

How I write a song - Marie Digby
I really wanted to put up a video for an original song because I've done a few covers for the last videos. Then I thought to myself, I've never put up a video as to how I write songs. There's no magic to it really but I thought some of you may find it kind of interesting to see how it goes. This was one inspired by my incredible grandmother who has been ill but has been fighting to stay alive...This song is actually not a downer! It's supposed to be inspirational and recognize how strong the human spirit can be... :)

Gabriel Marie - La Cinquantaine
Gabriel-Marie (1852 - 1928) Born in Paris on 8th January 1852, Gabriel-Marie, to use the hyphenated form of his name he adopted professionally, studied at the Paris Conservatoire and achieved a prominent position in Parisian musical life in the late-nineteenth century. He was timpanist and then chorus master of the Lamoureux Concerts from 1881 to 1887, and conducted the orchestral concerts of the societe Nationale de Musique from 1887 to 1894. A keen Wagnerian, Gabriel-Marie was among the early French visitors to Bayreuth and was chorus master for the production of Lohengrin given by Charles Lamoureux in Paris in 1887. He also conducted the concerts of Sainte-Cecile in Bordeaux, and then from 1902 settled in Marseille, conducting there during the winter months and at the Casino at Vichy during the summer until his retirement in 1912. Besides dances, he also composed music for theatres in Paris and Marseille and wrote music criticism. He died suddenly at Puigcerda in Spain on 29th August 1928 while travelling in the Pyrenees. His son Jean Gabriel-Marie was also a composer, whose works included music for Mireio, based on the same Provencal poem as Gounod's opera Mireille, and who was director of the Institut Gabriel-Marie in Marseille for many years until his death in 1970. He is mostly know as a French light music composer. His fame rests largely on his 'air dans le style ancien' La Cinquantaine (1884), but his other dance compositions are also well worth rediscovering ...

Marie and Bruce
MARIE AND BRUCE presents one day in the life of an urban couple. It just happens to be the day that Marie decides to leave Bruce. As the alarm clock blinks 7:00AM and Marie and Bruce start the day, the audience is brought into this couple's eccentric world via Marie--verbally abusing Bruce, all before the morning coffee has been brewed. By the time Bruce leaves the house, we're unsure why these two haven't killed each other yet. The audience follows both characters as they independently go about the day, each entertaining their waking fantasies as they maneuver through the streets of the city. After several hours apart, they meet at a friend's cocktail party. As Marie and Bruce move in and out of conversation with strangers and friends alike, it is here that we see them as the world sees them. Although it seems inevitable that Marie will leave Bruce, as the evening wears on, we realize that between the lines of Marie's berating words, a deep bond prevails -- at least until the next morning.

This is a portion of the memorial. For more information about Phil Harris and the program Deadliest Catch, visit dsc.discovery.com On a personal note, for years I have watched the Deadliest Catch because being a news photographer, I enjoy the challenging conditions the other photographers in the industry face when shooting. The photography is what hooked me, but it was the crew members of the boats and the risk they take for my favorite food that kept me watching. Ok, Dungeness crab is my personal favorite but Kings come in second! To the Harris Family, my thoughts are with you!
