But the real thing will have you singing along with the mariachi band in no time. To complete this How-To you will need: 1 1/2 oz. 100% agave tequila 1/2 oz. orange liqueur 1/2 oz. lemon juice 1/2 oz. lime juice A splash of simple syrup A small dish of salt 1 c. ice A lime A measuring jigger A blender A large margarita glass (or cocktail glass) Step 1: Frost glass Frost the glass by placing it in the freezer a couple of hours ahead of time. Step 2: Cover dish with salt Cover a small dish with a thin layer of salt. Step 3: Cut lime Cut the lime in half. Set one half aside and cut a wedge from the other half. Step 4: Rub lime on rim Rub the lime wedge around the rim of the chilled margarita glass, leaving an even ring of moisture along the outer edge. Wherever the seed was planted, the Margarita has blossomed into a global phenomenon. To complete this How-To you will need: 2 oz. 100% agave tequila 1 oz. orange liqueur A cutting board Salt Ice A small dish A rocks glass A cocktail shaker A lime A small knife A fork Step 1: Cover dish w/ salt Cover the small dish with a thin layer of salt. MARGARITAS ow.ly The Margarita, meaning daisy in Spanish, was supposedly created in 1946 by Margarita Sames at a cocktail party in Acapulco in Mexico. If using blanco tequila, add a little more sugar than if using an aged tequila. Glass: 10 oz rocks or 5 oz Martini Method: shake & strain 25ml Tequila 25ml Cointreau/triple sec/Grand Marnier 25ml lime juice 1 barspoon of sugar/agave syrup Put all the ingredients into a mixing glass and fill with ice. Cap with a Boston shaker and shake for a few seconds. Strain either over ice in a rocks glass or fine strain straight up into a cocktail glass that has been frosted with salt. Garnish with a perky lime wedge or lime wheel which can be used to take the salt off the rim of the glass. Margarita variations A classic twist on the margarita is the Japanese Slipper, which substitutes a melon liqueur for the Cointreau. The Margarita can be twisted similarly to the Daiquiri, using fresh fruit, Funkin purées, syrups or liqueurs. Also using rested and aged tequilas can change the dimension of this classic tequila cocktail.

Please subscribe! youtube.com More info and recipes at hilahcooking.com INGREDIENTS 3 ounces silver tequila 2 ounce orange liqueur 1 ounce fresh lime juice 1 habanero pepper Ice Salt (habanero salt if you can find it and like super-duper hot stuff) INSTRUCTIONS Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour in the tequila. Slice the habanero pepper thinly and add 2-4 slices to the shaker. (More if you like it really spicy!) Shake for 10 seconds. Add the lime juice and orange liqueur and shake 10 more seconds. Rim your glasses if you like Rub a lime wedge along the rim, then dip in salt. Fill the glasses with ice and strain your margarita into them. Garnish with a slice of habanero and a slice of lime
