A heavily edited version of Margaret Thatcher's statement of 30 October 1990 to the House of Commons on the European Council meeting at Rome held on 27/28 October. The Council was meant to discuss the Uruguay Round on General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade which was due to end in a few months but for which the EC had not developed a policy (alone out of the trading blocs). However the Italian Prime Minister, Giulio Andreotti, decided that the Council would refuse to discuss the GATT and instead push for the final stage in European Economic and Monetary Union in an attempt to get Thatcher to either agree or to force her to say "No" and thereby bring about her downfall by Europhile members of her party. Thatcher's hostility to a federal Europe led to Geoffrey Howe resigning from the Government on 1 November and to his fellow federalist Michael Heseltine's bid for the Tory leadership which brought down Thatcher on 22 November. As Howe later said: "I wanted to change the policies, not the leader. But if that meant the leader had to go, then so it had to be". After the Rome Council a French official was asked whether it had failed. He answered: "On the contrary, the Council had been an outstanding success, since it had re-established an eleven-to-one situation in the Community and destabilised Thatcher at home". IRA Tries to Assassinate Margaret Thatcher and her Ministers at Hotel in Brighton. On 12th October 1984 at 2.54am, the Irish Republican Army tried to assassinate Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and the entire British Cabinet. A bomb was placed inside the Grand Hotel in Brighton, Sussex, England where most leading members of the Conservative party were staying. It was the most devastating terrorist attack ever to have been launched on British politicians. The bomb failed to kill any of the ministers, however, five people were killed and 34 were injured in the attack. Thatcher was still awake at the time of the bomb and it left her bathroom badly damaged where she had been just two minutes earlier. IRA member Patrick Magee had checked in to the hotel nearly a month before the conference and during his stay he planted the bomb under the bath in his room. The room was being used by Sir Donald Maclean and his wife when the bomb went off. Magee was subsequently found guilty of planting the bomb and received 8 life sentences. He was later released in 1999 under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement. *PLEASE READ THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION* *WARNING: SPOILERS FROM PERSONA 3* How to fight her: - you need to see the True Ending in your first playthrough - follow the True Ending path in your 2nd playthrough or higher - you will get an invitation from Margaret, go to the last floor of Heaven Paradise (after defeating the extra boss there) and you will fight her. - oh and you have to max her social link to recieve the invitation. You CAN fight her with your party, I just wanted to go solo cause thats how its supposed to be (like with Elizabeth in P3). Her pattern screwed me over near the end, so you will see some idiotic mistakes (I never thought she had a different pattern near the end). Equipment: Weapon: Ultimate (high critical ratio) Armor: Ultimate (+10 all stats) Acc: Power Muscle (+10 Strenght) you shouldn't go with the orb, or she will kick your ass (believe me, I tried lol), so I went with Power Muscle cause physical attacks are my best bet in this fight (in my case). Also I just used 1 soma, so this is a good strategy for a no items fight (though it would take much longer to finish I guess). Also have a persona with Enduring soul cause at her 50th turn (Thanks to Karin for counting, even though she almost screwed me over lol) she will use a Megidolaon that will do 9999 damage. Thanks to my Izanagi for saving my ass :D and Yoshi for being so broken lol PS: no comments on Mara please lol ----------------------------------------------------------------- System: PS2 Lv 99 ...
