Phill Niblock The Movement of People (Trailer)
This DVD collects a number of Niblock's documentary films analysing the dynamics of motion involved in manual labour. The images on the disc are all accompanied by Niblock's own minimalist approach to soundtracking. Niblock started making these films back in 1973, upon visiting Mexico and Peru. It was here that he set out on his observation of the impersonal machinations of work. These films concentrate specifically on the work of human hands, both in terms of crafts, like weaving, and on the more industrial scale of farming, as is focussed on by the films shot in Hungary, made in 1985 (the most recent work here). In this Hungarian sequence a man reaps in a field using an old-fashioned scythe: the worker's rhythmic torsional movements are beautifully mirrored by Niblock's droning woodwind, as the composer continually renews his breath and restarts on the same pitch, replicating the visual cycle of unbroken repetition. Later on, we see a close-up of a woman milking a cow. Again, a rhythmic structure is established in both visual and auditory terms. It's pretty bewitching stuff considering how simple the component elements are. In addition to the conceptual success of the piece - which finds Niblock evoking a powerful sense of existential non-movement - he amply shows off his chops both as a filmmaker and a composer. Re-Education Fema Camp Manual w/ Slave Labor and Torture
A shocking US Army manual that describes how "political activists," including American citizens, are to be indoctrinated in re-education camps also includes rules on forced labor and separating political prisoners by confining them in isolation. Aside from detailing how PSYOP teams will use "indoctrination programs to reduce or remove antagonistic attitudes," as well as targeting "political activists" with indoctrination programs to provide "understanding and appreciation of US policies and actions," the manual directs political prisoners to be separated from the rest of the camp population. On page 284, the manual (PDF) describes how "Malcontents, rabble-rousers, trained agitators, and political officers who may attempt to organize resistance or create disturbances within the I/R facility," are to be confined "in isolated enclosures to deny them access to the general population." The document also makes clear that the internment facility is not only a re-education camp but also a forced labor camp. Page 277 of the manual states, "Detainees constitute a significant labor force of skilled and unskilled individuals. These individuals should be employed to the fullest extent possible in work that is needed to construct, manage, perform administrative functions for, and maintain the internment facility." How to Install a Sprinkler System
TIME LAPSE photography showing how to install a sprinkler system. I do not own the music. 1. Design a sprinkler system. Each sprinkler manufacturer has manuals showing maximum sprinklers per zone, water pressure requirements, and valve type combinations. Make sure the design makes each sprinkler head the same distance from the water source as opposed to having 4 sprinkler heads in series receiving water at different lengths. Rainbird irrigation manual: www.rainbird.com 2. Use a trench digger. Dig 2 - 4 inches more than the desired depth. Thus, allowing loose dirt to remain in the trench and no further manual labor is required to remove the loose dirt at the bottom. 3. Lay out pvc pipes, prime, and glue. Install automatic drain valves at low spots, near sprinkler heads, and control valves. Use rock as a base for proper drainage. 4. Use flexible swing arm risers for sprinklers heads. This allows easy install and adjustment to the sprinkler head. 5. Install T-connection to main supply line then install a stop and waste valve. The stop and waste valve allows water to drain when you shut off the sprinkler system. Install a backflow preventer to avoid water siphoning (potentially allows sickness and death via water taps in home if not installed). Use unions to allow for easy removal and replacement if damaged (lock with chains to prevent theft). Install an additional automatic drain valve between the backflow preventer and control valves. 6. The Rehabilitation Project Force, or RPF, is a controversial program set up by the Church of Scientology Sea Organization, intended to rehabilitate members of the Sea Organization who have not lived up to the Church expectations or have violated certain policies. As part of this program, members do manual labor tasks around Sea Org bases and there have been numerous reports of overwork, physical and psychological abuse and mistreatment at RPF facilities. In addition, the program can take many years to complete. Critics of Scientology, including former Scientologists, have compared the RPF with the gulag system of the Soviet Union. RPFs sleep 12 to 20 in a dorm.

Using Photographs to Enhance Videos of a Static Scene
The work presents a system for automatically producing a wide variety of video enhancements and visual effects. Unlike traditional visual effects software (eg, After Effects, Shake, Boujou, etc), the system is completely automatic and no manual labor is required from the user. The major limitation of the work is that it can currently handle only videos of static scenes (ie, videos shot with a moving camera but containing no moving objects in the scene). Efforts are being made to lift this restriction in future work. The Magdalene Sisters (2002) Written and directed by Peter Mullan and starring Eileen Walsh, Dorothy Duffy, Nora-Jane Noone, Anne-Marie Duff, and Geraldine McEwan, The Magdalene Sisters is based on true events depicted in the documentary, Sex in a Cold Climate. Mullan's film tells the story of three Dublin women in 1964, fictional composites of real cases. Abandoned by society and cast out by their families for crimes they did not commit, these women found themselves stripped of their liberty and dignity and condemned to indefinite sentences of manual labor. Within the church-run Magdalene Laundries, they were forced into institutional servitude in order to cleanse themselves of the "sins" of which they had been accused. The Magdalene Laundries were institutions sponsored and maintained by the Catholic Church in Ireland for the incarceration of young women thought to be a moral danger to themselves and others - unmarried mothers or simply girls who were considered hussies and whores, no better than they should be. With the legal consent of their fathers, they were imprisoned and made to work for no pay in imitation of Mary Magdalene in laundries, always exploited and in many cases sexually abused. The laundries existed until the 1970s, but the very last did not close until 1996. Many people insist that Obama is a racist. That he is a "black man" who hates white people. There is a problem with that argument: Obama is not black. He is biracial. Why is everyone so stupid? We do not get the choose one race for a person who is 2 races. He is not even predominantly black. He is not "a black person" In the past, there was a "One Drop Rule" and it meant that anyone with a known black ancestor was considered black under the law. It did not matter whether a person was 5% black. He was black under the One Drop Rule. This was a political fabrication in response to a need for manual labor. The USA needed laborers. This "law" was fabricated in order for more people to be considered legally black. This would include the redhead who is 95% white. A purely political agenda. It was unscientific then. "Navigating The Nutnfancy Project" by Nutnfancy
Often newcomers to The Nutnfancy Project are a bit overwhelmed as to where to start their viewing of the hundreds of videos available. It can be bewildering and I have heard your pleas for help! "Navigating The Nutnfancy Project" rolls in to give direction and an overview of TNP. I have spent about a week in its creation and annotations that will direct you to areas of interest. The Project is about 10% complete at this point, maybe less. But as it stands there is an immense body of work dealing with gun, knife, tool, survival and backpacking gear, and tactical equipment reviews. These are supported by an onslaught of hardcore outdoor adventures that I try might best to capture for you. Classic BBC Radio Theme ~ Music While You Work
This is Calling All Workers composed by Eric Coates and performed by Eric Coates and his Symphony Orchestra, this tune is the well known theme to the long running BBC radio programme Music while you work. Music While You Work was a daytime music programme broadcast twice daily in the United Kingdom on the BBC General Forces Programme. It began broadcasting in June 1940 during World War II, with the intention of helping the war effort. It was perceived that the productivity of manual labour could be raised by offering a non-stop medley of popular music played at an even tempo, to accompany the working day in factories. For a certain period, a recorded version was rebroadcast in the late evening, to entertain night-shift workers. After the war, the broadcasts continued on the newly-formed BBC Light Programme. Music While You Work was discontinued in 1967 when most Light Programme offerings were transitioned to BBC Radio 2. However, it was revived in the 1980s; initially for one week to mark the BBC's 60th anniversary in October 1982 and then as a regular part of the Radio 2 schedules from January 1983 to January 1984
