Máncora es una localidad en el norte del Perú. Es capital del distrito de Máncora en la provincia de Talara, Piura, cerca del departamento de Tumbes. Es un balneario y al mismo tiempo caleta de pescadores. En los últimos años se ha convertido en una playa muy visitada por los surfistas peruanos y extranjeros. Máncora es una playa enclavada en el Pacífico sudamericano, zona que también comprende las playas y caletas de Colán, Punta Sal, Totoritas, Las Pocitas, Cabo Blanco, entre otras. Máncora y la zona norte del Perú se han convertido en un potencial eje turístico del Perú. Clima y geografía Máncora beach posee un clima seco tropical o de sabana tropical con un promedio de 26 °C. Los meses calurosos, que son de diciembre a abril, se caracterizan por lluvias ligeras en las noche y una temperatura que puede llegar fácilmente a los 35 °C. Con ocurrencia del fenómeno del Niño, puede llegar hasta 40 °C.En el resto de año, la temperatura de día rara vez baja de los 26 ó 27 °C aunque en los inviernos; de junio a setiembre, las noches son frescas, vientosas y la temperatura mínima baja a 17 °C. We stayed in Bungalows Las Balsas in September 2008 for a few lovely nights. Las Balsas was one of the first bungalow complexes to be build on this stretch of beach, and it is old fashioned and even a little primative compared to some of the modern hotels up the beach nearer the town. But personally I really liked its rustic simplicity. No TV, no noise, no fuss... just time and space to relax.
