A terrible pain in her leg put an end to the ordinary teenage life with the boys, parties, school and everything else that normally waited a teenage girl. The pain in the leg turned out to be malignant cancer. For over a year went through Madde heavy chemotherapy and two major surgeries. When her hair began to fall pray ... ended Madde to let a barber shave off her hair. She wanted to feel that it was she who decided that she would be "skin head", not the cancer took her from her hair. Because of the chemotherapy which knocked out her immune system, she could rarely eat naturally, but had to be fed through a drip and probe. For a while, she was just skin and bones and was about to lose his life. In order to eliminate the disease unwittingly come into her life got Madden called a "bone anchored" prosthesis. The doctors took away twelve inches of her bone, just below the knee. This meant that she had to keep his leg. Because of a severe infection, she was to undergo further surgery, in which muscle, blood vessels and skin transplanted from her back.
