Madison Square Garden 1974 November 28 (Thanksgiving). John Lennon came on stage as special guest at the Elton John concert and they did three songs together. We all know the story ...... When John Lennon was recording his "Walls and Bridges" album in 1974, he invited Elton to help him out on a couple of tracks - "Whatever Gets You Thru the Night" and "Surprise, Surprise (Sweet Bird of Paradox)". This was around the same time they also worked together on Elton's releases "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and "One Day at a Time". Lennon said of Elton, "I was amazed at his ability. A fine musician, great piano player. I was really pleasantly surprised at the way he could get in on such a loose track and add to it and keep up with the rhythm changes". As Elton and Lennon were enjoying themselves greatly during the recording session, Elton asked Lennon if he would do "Whatever Gets You Thru" with him on stage. Lennon, who no longer performed live, jokingly promised to do so when the song became a #1 hit single. In November that year, it did hit #1, Lennon's only solo single to do so. Elton called him up and reminded him of the promise, and Lennon appeared on stage for three numbers at the final concert of Elton's 1974 American Tour, held at Madison Square Garden, New York City. Lennon was terrified, and nearly backed out several times. Finally, as Elton introduced him, he suddenly turned to Bernie Taupin back stage, and said, "I'm not going on unless you go with me". A Request from an "I Love Lucy" fan who lives in New Jersey, United States. This short 8mm Color film Footage was fimed by an audience member of "I Love Lucy", on the evening of October 12, 1951, at Sound Stage #2 of Desilu Studios, Hollywood, California. The episode fimed that night was 6th Episode of the First Season, "The Audition".(It was a remake of "I Love Lucy" pilot episode, which was presumed lost until 1990.) Although there were many people who tried to capture the scene of filming, Jess Oppenheimer, the producer and writer of "I Love Lucy", prohibited it, because of the possibilities of Leaking. Because of this, this footage is the only surviving material of "Behind-the-Scenes" of this legendary sitcom. (It is said that Desi Arnaz filmed some filming scenes using his own 8mm movie camera, but it is not proven.) Of all four main stars, Vivian Vance is not appearing in this footage. Jess Oppenheimer, and the famous cameraman, Karl Freund, are seen briefly.

Lucy in East Africa at 3.2 (Musical Study Guide)
As a teaching assistant, I made this video to help students studying australopith(ecine)s try to keep straight some of the key points to know. The general point of view is that of an Australopithecus afarensis, like Lucy, and the dates referenced are in millions of years. I just want to mention a couple other things: 1. If somehow you don't know the song, it's the Beatles' "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" and it's what the A. afarensis specimen Lucy was named after when she was discovered by Don Johanson in the 1970s. So it seemed appropriate to make up my own lame lyrics to the song, but I encourage anyone trying to study anything to make up their own songs. It makes for an excellent mnemonic device, and just the act of working on it helps cement the info in your head. 2. The information used in said lame lyrics is accurate as far as what my particular university teaches in the introductory human evolution class, so it's pretty basic. And the images, of course, are in many cases artistic reconstructions that I included because I think it's fascinating to imagine what they'd have looked and acted like. (Also, I cheated on the foramen magnum picture because I couldn't find an australopith one -- it's a modern human, but the australopithecine foramen magnum is centered enough to indicate bipedality.) 3.
