Flexi Disc Balloon Launch for Jack White - Freedom At 21
Three weeks before his "Blunderbuss" album hits the streets, Third Man Records decided to make the Jack White album track "Freedom at 21" premier exclusively via flexi-disc records attached to helium balloons launched from the label headquarters in Nashville on April 1st, 2012. Envisioned as an experiment exploring non-traditional forms of record distribution and a way to get records in the hands of people who don't visit record shops, the label was sure to use biodegradable latex balloons and all-natural twine in the process. Accompanying the balloons were custom post cards with instructions for the finders to submit photos, discovery location and the date on which the record was found, all of which will be incorporated into a website where fans can access the information. Statistics for similar balloon launches show a recovery rate of approximately 10% so it's quite possible that less than one hundred of the one thousand records launched will ever be discovered and the "Freedom at 21" flexi-disc will surely be a highly sought-after collectible for years to come. I made a big deal about the reloading however, its not that hard especially if the weapon had a foregrip, I was simply showing worst case scenario loading issues. Also yes I know its a SUSAT sight but when a million people are gonna watch something you simplify things, everyone is familiar with acog sights. It still looks like a donkey dick though haha. My opinions on this weapon are as follows, its very accurate, very pointable, the weight didnt bother me, although it is heavy, Im not a fan of the SUSAT and never have been, but all together I prefer this rifle to many of its counterparts.

Navy launches first aircraft using EMALS
LAKEHURST, NJ (Dec. 18, 2010) The Navy launches the first aircraft, an F/A-18E Super Hornet, from the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) at Naval Air Systems Command, Lakehurst, NJ The Navy has used steam catapults for more than 50 years to launch aircraft from aircraft carriers. EMALS is a complete carrier-based launch system designed for Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) and future Ford-class carriers. Newer, heavier and faster aircraft will result in launch energy requirements approaching the limits of the steam catapult, increasing maintenance on the system. The system's technology allows for a smooth acceleration at both high and low speeds, increasing the carrier's ability to launch aircraft in support of the warfighter. EMALS will provide the capability for launching all current and future carrier air wing platforms from lightweight unmanned aerial vehicles to heavy strike fighters. The first ship components are on schedule to be delivered to CVN 78 in 2011. (US Navy video/Released)

A father-son team from Park Slope decided NASA wasn't doing enough to document the stratosphere, and decided to take matters into their own hands. After testing their "19-inch helium filled weather balloon" in Brooklyn, Luke Geissbuhler and his son Max headed upstate and launched the device, complete with a camera, into space...... ------------------------------- The two were able to track the device with GPS, and Columbia University Professor of Astronomy Marcel Aguera said the two were "very good but also very lucky." Pretty cool what they did huh??

Finally got a chance to put a camera on board one of the boats! This 292' oil supply boat will be working offshore rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. This boat was launched on August 25, 2010 in Panama City Florida at Eastern Shipbuilding Group. I think this is the first on-board side launch video anywhere.
