Kristof wist het publiek en jury te bekoren met harde rocknummers , maar ook met een pakkende akoestische versie van Chris Isaak's Wicked Game. Met zijn gitaar in de hand en zijn mooie uitspraak deed het publiek lustig mee en ook de jury zag dat het goed was. Kristof eindigde in Idool 2011 op de 3de plaats, maar op dat moment wist hij reeds dat het nederlandstalige rock/pop genre het zijne zou worden. Onmiddellijk na zijn exit begon Kristof met het schrijven van een 12tal songs ,en voor hij het wist zat hij in de studio. In October 2009, The Eleos Foundation hosted Nicholas Kristof, a columnist for The New York Times since 2001, is a two-time Pulitzer Prize winner who writes op-ed columns that appear twice a week. His columns often focus on global health, poverty and gender issues in the developing world. Mr. Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn coauthored the book Half the Sky, which lays out an agenda for the world's women and three major abuses, which needlessly claims one woman a minute. Introducing micronutrients into the food supply will have an even greater positive affect on the health and development of girls and women in developing countries. Mr. Kristof argues that women are more susceptible to the negative effects of malnutrition due to familial traditions and biology. Adding micronutrients can lower mortality rates and reduce iron and iodine deficiencies.
