Kon-Tiki - (Full Feature Program)
bit.ly Kon-Tiki is the Academy Award-winning film of an astonishing adventure, a journey spanning 4300 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean by raft. Intrigued by Polynesian folklore, Norwegian biologist Thor Heyerdahl suspected that the South Sea Islands had been settled by an ancient race from thousands of miles to the east, led by the mythical hero Kon-Tiki. Heyerdahl knew that the trade winds and ocean currents off the South-American coastline bear in the direction of Polynesia. Ridiculed by the scientific establishment, who had concluded that a voyage by aboriginal balsa raft from Peru to Polynesia was impossible, he decided to prove the possibility of his theory by duplicating the legendary voyage. The ensuing expedition was hailed as one of the most fantastic feats of daring and courage of its time.

The family members prepare for the festival of Holi. Shomu's wife Surekha does not like her step son. The servant Parul scares the kids saying that Shomu's elder son is a monster. Shomu's mother advices her son to get her elder grandson married. Shomu worries as to who will marry his son as he is not good looking. Meanwhile, as Alo's family fear the local goon Shambhu, they restrict her from playing Holi and lock her up.

This results in a disagreement and an argument breaks out between Anshuman's grandmother and his step brothers.

Anshuman's family is worried to see the advocate, summoned by Samarendra. Anshuman is also surprised to learn about the advocate. By disappointing his other two sons, Samarendra gives a major portion of the property to Anshuman. Later, Alo tries to prove her innocence before her family and neighbours but in vain.

Samarendra overhears Surekha and her son's plan against Ashuman.

Surekha plans to insult Anshuman and Alo on their marriage reception day.
