Cloud Leopard Papercut Art -- Official Video -- Nahoko Kojima
Professional papercut artist, Nahoko Kojima of Solo Kojima, was selected by the Crafts Council as one of only ten international artists showing in the Project Space at Collect 2012 at the Saatchi gallery (11-14 May 2012). The astoundingly intricate Cloud Leopard Papercut sculpture unveiled at the event was made from one sheet of paper and cut by hand -- a process which took 5 months. Not only does this piece encourage recognition of a Japanese artform in the UK but it also also gives many people a chance to see a new form of paper sculpture for the first time. The implications this has to Papercut Art in Europe are significant as it challenges established views and presents a very new concept of treating it as sculpture. A truly spectacular example of Contemporary Japanese Paper-cut Art, which represents a new sculptural direction for Nahoko Kojima. www.solokojima.com

* Video dedicated to my friend Hikaru "Hikaruai118" * Haruna Kojima born April 19, 1988 in Saitama Prefecture (Japan), is a singer, actress, and a member of idol group AKB48 under Team A. Kojima started her career as a member of Angel Eyes, an idol group under Stardust Promotion that disbanded in 2001. Initially, she was under contract with Stardust Promotion when she was still with Angel Eyes, but later switched to Ogi Production and stayed with the agency ever since. Kojima participated in the first AKB48 audition in July 2005, which she passed along with 23 other participants. The group made their debut in December of the same year, and Kojima was assigned as one of the 20 members of Team A; the number later dropped down to 16 but Kojima remained as a member. In the past few years, she had made several appearances on television with the group, and had participated on the A-sides in all of the group's singles, making her one of the most visible figures in the group. Kojima made her first appearance on Kohaku Uta Gassen, an annual music show where the most successful artists of the year are invited, with AKB48 on December 31, 2007. Since 2007, Kojima has been actively exploring a possible acting career, and has made several appearances in a number of dramas and movies.
