Noisy kittens waiting for dinner!
7 week old fostered kittens waiting on their dinner being prepared. They had been ill with cat flu and were just starting to get their appetite back. Because of their condition I had to chop their food finely and then add water and their medication to it. Once they were old enough and healthy enough the kittens were eventually re-homed in pairs to two loving families. They were never purposely starved for our entertainment - Cats can be very impatient and demanding!

Kittens on a Slide
Kittens that are living in my old playhouse are learning how to go down the slide. Momma Dove isn't happy about it. Added notes: The cat gave birth up there, I didn't put them up there. I blocked off the top of the slide, they got around it, I blocked it off better, and finally kept them safe. They got on the slide themselves and even after falling off when I wasn't there, they still kept getting back on. I did help the kitten at the end back up. I love my babies, so shut up about the animal abuse crap. I have disabled comments.
The Faceless Kitten
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE VIEWS! It makes me tear up with joy that so many people are seeing this message and are being touched by such a tragic yet great story. Please remember to adopt and spay/neuter your animals! Why is his left eye shut in the beginning? We think that the body was trying to protect that eye by forming fluid/puss around it. When he was under anesthesia the doctor tried to open that eye and puss just oozed out it was really intense. The reason his eyes are to the side while he's under the anesthesia is because he is under sedation and when that happens and a patient goes deep enough to sleep their eyes roll back. Is his vision okay? Yes, from what we believe he can see okay. The only problem he has with his eyes is that he's missing his lower tear duct on the left side which is for draining of tears. This means that his tears will just drain from that eye onto his fur so it looks kind of like he's crying but it's not too bad. He gets drops in that eye. Purring can mean more than happiness. Yes yes it can, purring can mean a ton of different things. The main reason I bring up that the kitten is purring when he first came in his because yes he was probably scared trying to calm himself down but also that he just wanted human attention the whole time even with such a scary wound on his face. He wanted to be petted and he really didn't act like anything was wrong with his face or that he knew. I'm used to cats coming into the vet's office and hating my guts ...

charlie and spike were two kittens with myotonia congenita, otherwise known as 'fainting goat' syndrome. at the slightest sound or movement, the kittens responded by collapsing and falling into a rigid paralysis which lasted about a minute before they returned to normal.If a pin dropped they dropped too. This condition had hardly ever before been diagnosed in a cat, is rarely found in dogs and is more common in goats. Kitten Marshmallow: 4 weeks old and counting
Marshmallow was born on March 1st with low birth weight (~60% of the normal expected weight at about 66g or 2.3 oz). A month later, Marshy is breaking one pound, about 7 times the birthweight. At this point, we're just thankful that she's made it through the first month. What a blessing she is. Below are some notable changes in Marshy's behavior: She refuses to stay in her nest box, rebelliously clawing and crying murder when she is placed there. Marshy is also able to regulate her body temperature better now to the point where she no longer needs a heating pad or "rice socks" to keep warm when mama Mochi is not around. We used to place a heating pad beneath the nest box to cover about ½ of the surface area, so Marshy could keep warm, but also move off the heated area if she felt hot. With her head held high and steady, Marshmallow has become more photogenic as well, often times staring curiously straight into one's eyes, a move that would melt any stone heart. Marshmallow's developing curiosity drives her to walk a whole lot more to explore the seemingly vast world in front of her. It's amazing to witness her stumbling movements refine into a more stable gait as her hind legs and coordination strengthen and improve to match her front paws. To keep her safe when unsupervised, we have set up a couple of playpens so Marshy can walk "freely" without worries. These are just some kittens I rescued who went crazy after they felt a plastic tarp on their feet for the first time. I was just trying to make them a bigger place to be able to run around, but instead it ended up being a playpen! That is why I chose the music of Scott Joplin, because it reminded me of one of those old movies they play ragtime music to, while funny things are happening. BOBCAT KITTENS adopted by house cat!
!! 3 Very CUTE bobcat KITTENS are given a second chance at life after being adopted by a domestic cat !! With a gun in one hand and a sack of bobcat kittens in the other, an Alabama hunter proudly plopped the newborns down on the counter and asked the veterinary assistant to raise them up for him so he could give them to his kids as pets. The vet tech was stunned, but quickly recomposed herself to tell the hunter she would do it for him so as to rescue the babies from such an awful fate. She immediately began scouring the Internet for an expert in rehab and release. When she called Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue it was agreed that the kittens would come to Florida, be raised for re-release back to the wild and the paperwork began. It took three days to secure the Florida import permit and time was of the essence. The only kitten formula available to the clinic was one that often causes serious dehydration in bobcat kittens. The second more critical factor was that their eyes would be opening any day and if they were to ever live free it was imperative that they not bond to humans. They never make good pets, but the bonding that takes place during the nursing stage could make them fearless of people and that would get them into trouble as adults.
