This show brings back memories, of walking down the street from my apt. back in '93 to the Elbo Room on tuesday nights to see the Charlie Hunter Trio, and even sometimes James T. Kirk on the weekends if we got lucky. Charlie twice a week ftw. Charlie mentioned that the last time he and Scott were at the Kuumbwa together was right before Charlie moved to New York in '98, so it had been many years. I have the late show first since I had a front row spot for the late show, and the early show is last since I was in the back for that show. Usually Charlie is -not- this relaxed and informal when I see him nowadays, he runs a much tighter ship since he's a guitar god now, this definitely reminds me of his old style of playing.
