It was paramount when casting the role of Robert Kearns for Flash of Genius that audiences would believe this is a well-intentioned man who cherishes his family, but loses himself in an unimaginable lawsuit. We want to like him; we want to believe in and root for him even during the times he becomes unlikable. Enter actor Greg Kinnear. Refreshing and inspiring are the words Kinnear uses to describe his draw to the story. The richness of character and the integrity of what Kearns was fighting for—not the money, but his dignity and what was right. That kind of purity is rare. Director Abrahams solid track record as a producer inspired the confidence in the performer it would take to film the part. Kinnear continues: Marcs deeply passionate about this story on both personal and cinematic levels, and he stuck to it and fought for it and found the truth of it. To prepare for the role, Kinnear researched the Kearns family story and began to assemble a portrait of the complex inventor and his family. He immersed himself in articles about the case and studied the familys home movies and an appearance by the inventor on David Lettermans late night show that captured the essence of the engineer. The performer was keen to not simply paint Kearns as an infallible hero, but a father and a husband who made some very difficult decisions on behalf of his family, some of which devastated them. Two recession-tastic PIFs for housing grants from around 1979, starring the great squashed-prop-forward comic actor Roy Kinnear as the sort of put-upon doughy man for which he had the perfect face. Kinnear lives in the kind of Winter-of-Discontent "squalor contemporary" that most first-world youngsters these days would find completely incomprehensible. Not only does he only have one toilet, it's not even in the house. Humiliation upon humiliation is piled upon poor Kinnear, underlined by an openly contemptuous voiceover from fellow dead comedy genius Leonard Rossiter, who gives the impression of some kind of Government surveillance man observing him with faintly detatched amusement from a distance, without his knowledge. Surely the only chance in your lifetime to see Roy Kinnear's nipples.

At the funeral, Jessica's old science professor Dr. Wells (Robert Deniro) offers them a chance to rebuild their lives: a mansion in the country near his DNA clinic, a private school teaching job for Paul, and an exact clone of their dead son. Sworn to secrecy and facing all sorts of moral issues, the grief-stricken couple accepts Wells' offer. All goes well until the new David passes the age he previously died, then comes ghostly visions of burning children, and premonitions of murder. A creepily unobtrusive score and the film's drab look help maintain a welcome low-key, character-driven mood here, with the result that GODSEND works both as a standard horror film and a darkly psychological meditation on the uncertainty, misgivings, and sheer terror involved with child rearing. Deniro is great, as usual, and the gorgeous Romijn-Stamos proves herself adept in an unglamorous, tensely dramatic change-of-pace role as the split-apart mother. The film's storyline follows a troubled teenager, played by Cyrus, and her estranged father, played by Greg Kinnear, as they reconnect with each other through music during a summer in a quiet Southern beach town. The film also stars Kelly Preston and Liam Hemsworth and is produced by Offspring Entertainment for Touchstone Pictures, an alternative film label of The Walt Disney Company. Matt Damon reunites with his Bourne director Paul Greengrass for the new action thriller Green Zone. Set in Baghdad, Damon portrays Roy Miller, a warrant officer who helps a senior CIA officer in the search for weapons of mass destruction. Miller is based on real-life Army chief warrant officer Richard (Monty) Gonzales, whose Mobile Exploitation Team was charged with finding WMDs during the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Oscar-nominated actor Greg Kinnear stars in the film as a government official who's trying to cover up serious and misleading information. His character clashes with Damon's, which makes for some pretty intense screen time between the two actors.
