Muppet Movie - The Rainbow Connection
"The Rainbow Connection" was written for The Muppet Movie and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song in 1979. It is sung by Kermit as the movie's opening number and reprised by the whole cast of Muppets at the end of the movie. The single of this song reached #25 on Billboard's "Hot 100 Singles" chart in 1979. Why are there so many songs about rainbows and what's on the other side? Rainbows are visions, but only illusions, and rainbows have nothing to hide. So we've been told and some choose to believe it. I know they're wrong wait and see. Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me. Who said that wishes would be heard and answered when wished on the morningstar? Someone thought of that and someone believed it. Look what it's done so far. What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing and what do we think we might see?
