Shooting in Louisville, Kentucky, leaves three people dead __________________________________________________ LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Three people were killed Thursday after a chaotic shooting scene that had crowds running for cover in a crime-ridden section of Louisville. Two men — Tyson Mimms, 24 and Craig Bland Jr., 22 — were killed Thursday afternoon in a shooting that attracted dozens of onlookers anxious for answers in the city's Russell neighborhood, which is dotted with boarded-up houses. As police investigated and a host of media gathered nearby, shots rang out about four houses down. Makeba Lee, 24, was killed after she was shot by a woman who had gotten into an argument with her about the incident, police said. That woman was later wounded by police and taken to the hospital, Louisville Metro Police Chief Steve Conrad. Jefferson County chief deputy coroner Jo-Ann Farmer identified the three slain people on Thursday night. Police have not released a motive for the first shooting, which also wounded at least three other people. There appears to be no connection between the slayings, Conrad said. "We had people at the scene yelling," said Conrad, who spent his day in the neighborhood west of downtown working with officers in that precinct before the shootings. "I don't know if that played a role or not. This level of violent behavior is unacceptable." Amazing tornado footage shot from downtown West Liberty, Kentucky. The town was completely destroyed. ----------------------------------------------------- A killer tornado probably traveled more than 90 miles as it shredded houses and toppled trees in a path that stretched 60 miles through Kentucky and more than 30 miles into West Virginia, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado started in Menifee County, then ripped through Morgan County, the northern tip of Johnson County and Lawrence County before crossing into West Virginia, said Shawn Harley, chief meteorologist for the Jackson office of the weather service. The tornado continued through two West Virginia counties, Harley said. When the Jackson and Charleston, W.Va., weather service offices confer on Tuesday, Harley said, the official path of the tornado is expected to extend as much as 93 miles. At its peak, the storm was an EF3 tornado, with wind speeds as high as 165 mph and a maximum width of a mile. The tornado's length would not be a national record, but "for our area it will be, no doubt," Harley said. Nearby, a tornado that went through Magoffin, Johnson and Martin counties extended about a mile into West Virginia, bringing the tornado's total length to 48 or 49 miles, according to the Jackson office's Web site. That tornado was three-quarters of a mile wide at its maximum. Those tornados and others in the state had claimed 22 lives by Monday afternoon, Kentucky officials said. Read more here ...

Kentucky Fans Riot After Defeat of Louisville In NCAA Final Four 2012
Post-game revelry in Lexington turned to destruction and fire-setting Saturday night as University of Kentucky fans swarmed the streets surrounding campus, prompting police in riot gear to move in. College antics in alcohol-fueled celebrations of UK's Final Four victory quickly escalated, as young people set couches and two cars ablaze and hurled beer cans into clusters of party-goers.
