Mary Kennedy Found Dead
Mary Kennedy, the 52-year-old estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., was found dead Wednesday, her family confirmed. Mary Kennedy was married to RFK Jr. for 16 years and in recent years had a troubled history, including arrests two years ago for drunk driving and driving while impaired by drugs. The circumstances of her death were not immediately clear, but Bedford police released a statement saying they were investigating a "possible unattended death" at 326 South Bedford Road where "a deceased individual had been located inside an out building on that property." The police statement did not specify that the victim was Mary Kennedy but the local Journal News said the address was listed as belonging to Kennedy. The Kennedys had four children aged approximately 18 to 11: Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden. RFK Jr., 58, is the son of former Sen. Robert F. Kennedy and the nephew of President John F. Kennedy. He filed for divorce from Mary, his second wife, in 2010. Three days later she was charged with driving under the influence by the police in Bedford, NY, where the couple lived. According to news reports at the time, she blew a .11 on a Breathalyzer, with .08 being the legal limit. The following August she was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. Testing at the police station showed the drugs were prescription medication. Kennedy assassination. The United States corporation, Arts & Entertainment Company, purchased the rights to the original two segments. Three one-hour segments were added in 1991. A sixth segment was added in 1995. Finally, three additional hourly segments were added by the History Channel in November 2003. The ninth segment, titled "The Guilty Men", directly implicated Lyndon B. Johnson. Within days, Johnson's widow, Lady Bird Johnson, more of his surviving associates, ex-President Jimmy Carter, and the lone, living Warren Commission commissioner and ex-President Gerald R. Ford immediately complained to the History Channel. They subsequently threatened legal action against Arts & Entertainment Company, owner of the History Channel. "The Guilty Men" segment was completely withdrawn by the History Channel. Also during the series, French prisoner Christian David named Lucien Sarti as one of three French criminals hired to carry out the assassination of Kennedy, when he was interviewed by author Anthony Summers. After more than 30 years, the space shuttle era has come to a close. Space shuttle Atlantis and the STS-135 crew landed safely on runway 15 at 5:57 am EDT at Kennedy Space Center's Shuttle Landing Facility in Florida, ending a 13-day journey of more than five million miles. It was the final and 133rd landing in shuttle history. The STS-135 crew consisted of Commander Chris Ferguson, Pilot Doug Hurley, Mission Specialists Sandra Magnus and Rex Walheim.

"We're going to get right to that tragedy that has struck the Kennedy family. The estranged wife of Robert Kennedy, Jr., Mary Richardson, was found hanging in her garage yesterday. It looks like she killed herself." An autopsy performed Thursday morning revealed that Mary Kennedy died of asphyxiation due to hanging. Mary, an architect known for designing eco-friendly houses, and Robert, an environmental lawyer, were married for 16 years before they separated in 2010. They had four children during their marriage. Here's NBC. "The Kennedys separated two years ago as Mary Kennedy battled with drug and alcohol problems. In May 2010 she was arrested for DWI, and pled guilty to a lesser charge." Mary Kennedy was sentenced to 90 days of psychiatric care after her DUI plea. Kennedy family biographer Laurence Leamer tells CNN — alcohol and substance abuse in the Kennedy family may have contributed to Mary Kennedy's death. "That is a real problem in the family, it really is. I remember Bobby Kennedy Jr. telling me that he thinks it's in the genes, it's something you kind of have. Kennedy, who had been assassinated on November 22, 1963. It was completed in 1964, and released to theatres by Embassy Pictures in 1966. The film, containing both color and black-and-white footage, is narrated by Gregory Peck, and features extensive excerpts from President Kennedy's speeches, including color footage of his swearing in and inaugural address. It was written and directed by Bruce Herschensohn, who also composed the music - long before he was recognized as a noted conservative. "Years of Lightning..." was produced by the United States Information Agency, and was originally not intended for viewing by the general public. However, the quality of the film was considered so outstanding that a special act of Congress allowed it to be shown in regular motion picture theatres, a rare honor for USIA films. Two years after the film's actual completion, it made its debut in regular movie houses. A soundtrack album from the film, featuring both music and narration was also issued, but it is unavailable on CD.
