Billy Joel - Why Judy Why

A rare song off the album "Cold Spring Harbor". Cold Spring Harbor was Billy's first album which he expected to promote his career, but unfortunately the album was recorded at the wrong speed. I sure couldn't tell the first time I heard it! XD I do not own this song, the picture used, or the album "Cold Spring Harbor". Please tell me if you are searching for a rare song, and I may be able to help you find it. Cheers! -mission2marsden-

Judy Garland Barbra Streisand Duet - Get Happy / Happy Days Are Here Again

Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand sing "Get Happy" and "Happy Days Are Here Again" in a counterpoint duet. This performance is from episode 9 of the Judy Garland Show, broadcast on October 6, 1963. It is available in a number of DVD "Judy Garland Show" collections which seem to go in and out of print. US viewers can probably buy or rent one of these DVDs online; worldwide viewers are probably out of luck. Barbra was 21 years old at the time and received an Emmy nomination for her guest appearance. On October 12, 2010, the hit television series GLEE featured this duet, with Barbra's role performed by Lea Michele and Judy's role performed by Chris Colfer. Lea was 24 at the time while Chris was 20 years old. Both Lea and Chris are very talented young singers and gave an amazing performance of this song. Kudos to GLEE for including this song on the show. I still wish GLEE didn't feel the need to disguise the warmth of their talented cast members' voices with AutoTune. They hire wonderful singers, then electronically distort their vocal skills. However, GLEE is introducing a new generation of viewers to wonderful songs like this, so I can't really complain. JUDY GARLAND "GET HAPPY" (SUMMER STOCK, 1950)

JUDY GARLAND "GET HAPPY" Though it's called Summer Stock, this marvelous "let's put on a show" musical - the final one that showcased the peerless pair of Judy Garland and Gene Kelly - is a delight for all seasons. The story is simple: a homespun farm family allows a Broadway production company to rehearse its new show on their property - if the performers "pay" their way by pitching in with all the farm chores! But the pleasures are abundant: a show-stopping, all-star "Battle of the Dances" that starts out as a square dance and blossoms into a cavalcade of high-stepping dance favorites; Kelly's marvelous song and later dance to "You, Wonderful You;" four of the most popular comedic screen actors ever: Phil Silvers, Eddie Bracken, Hans Conried and Marjorie Main; and Garland's incomparable "Get Happy," a smashing sequence that's one of her peak movie moments.

Smile Judy Garland (Charles Chaplin Modern Times 1936)

Smile (From Charles Chaplin's "Modern Times" - 1936) with Judy Garland Smile (Charles Chaplin) Smile, Though your heart is aching Smile, Even though it's breaking, When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by If you smile Through your fears and sorrow, smile And maybe tomorrow You'll see the sun come shining through for you. Light up your face with gladness, Hide ev'ry trace of sadness, Altho' a tear may be ever so near, That's the time you must keep on trying, Smile, What's the use of crying, You'll find that life is still worhwhile, If you just smile.

Belle & Sebastian - Judy and the Dream of Horses

follow me on Twitter @lifeistooshor Judy wrote the saddest song She showed it to a boy in school today Judy, where did you go wrong? You used to make me smile when I was down Judy was a teenage rebel She did it with a boy when she was young She gave herself to books and learning She gave herself to being number one Judy, I dont know you if youre gonna show me everything Judy, I dont know you if youre gonna show me everything Judy got a book at school She went under the cover with her torch She fell asleep till it was morning She dreamt about the girl who stole a horse Judy never felt so good except when she was sleeping Judy never felt so good except when she was sleeping Judy, lets go for a walk We can kiss and whatever you want But you will be disappointed You will asleep with ants in your pants Judy, youre just trying to find and keep the dream of horses And the song she wrote was judy and the dream of horses Dream of horses The best looking boys are taken The best looking girls are staying inside So judy, where does that leave you? Walking the street from morning to night With a star upon your shoulder lighting up the path that you walk With a parrot on your shoulder, saying everything when you talk If youre ever feeling blue Then write another song about your dream of horses Write a song about your dream of horses Call it judy and the dream of horses Call it judy and the dream of horses You dream of horses

JUDY COLLINS - Send In The Clowns (Live w/ lyrics)

LYRICS: Isn't it rich? Are we a pair? Me here at last on the ground, You in mid-air.. Where are the clowns? Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve? One who keeps tearing around, One who can't move... Where are the clowns? Send in the clowns. Just when I'd stopped opening doors, Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours. Making my entrance again with my usual flair Sure of my lines... No one is there. Don't you love farce? My fault, I fear. I thought that you'd want what I want... Sorry, my dear! But where are the clowns Quick - Send in the clowns Don't bother, they're here. Isn't it rich? Isn't it queer? Losing my timing this late in my career. But where are the clowns? There ought to be clowns... Well, maybe next year.

The Man That Got Away - Judy Garland (The Judy Garland Show)

Judy Garland sings, "The Man That Got Away" on episode 4 of the Judy Garland Show. One of my favorite Judy performances ever.

JUDY GARLAND: 'THE MAN THAT GOT AWAY' FROM 'A STAR IS BORN.' A CLOSER VIEW.

I normally don't touch perfection, but I had always wanted to see this from a closer vantage point., so I created the video with changes in perspective. I want to see Judy's expression ... see the Power ... feel her Magic as I watch. I couldn't get it too close without losing some of the integrity ... but I was able to add, I think, a different dimension. Judy's performance of this song in A Star is Born is ,without a doubt, one of film history's Greatest Moments. She performs the song during an after hours rehearsal session in a smoky nightclub, & it is unusual for being filmed as one continuous shot. A Star Is Born was Judy's personal odyssey. Not being confined to the constraints of MGM any longer, Judy had the freedom to express her talent & creativity to the fullest. ... And she knocked us out! *No copyright infringement intended* The night is bitter, The stars have lost their glitter; The winds grow colder And suddenly you're older - And all because of the man that got away. No more his eager call, The writing's on the wall; The dreams you dreamed have all Gone astray. The man that won you Has gone off and undone you. That great beginning Has seen the final inning. Don't know what happened. It's all a crazy game! No more that all-time thrill, For you've been through the mill - And never a new love will Be the same. Good riddance, good-bye! Ev'ry trick of his you're on to. But, fools will be fools - And where's he gone to? The road gets rougher, It's lonelier and ...
