He has been on the big screen 2 times already...what did they need to make the hulk right this time around. Joss said, "A Bruce Banner who's not obsessed with his own problems. A Hulk who not only feels flesh and blood, but is clearly an extension of Banner himself and not just a CGI thing that roars. A Hulk who feels dangerous, who might actually hurt someone we care about, who belongs in a classic horror film. And much more. He's the hardest character by far, and ended up being the most fun." Now on to the man BEHIND the green...what did mark ruffalo bring to the role? Whedon replied, " Mark is such a delightful mensch it's stupid. His Banner is a bunch of contradictions: graceful and awkward, meek and confident, erudite and working class, funny and sad. And contradictions are what the Banner/Hulk dynamic are all about. Also, Mark kinda looks like the Hulk. So we got to build our Hulk from him." As you guys know, The Avengers have been said to be led by Steve Rogers aka captain America, but joss whedon is saying, not true and that the flick we are expecting may be very different then what we actually see. Recently at sxsw Joss Whedon chatted about the ensemble superhero flick and he told total film that despite what we think, the story will not be told from just caps perspective. Referring to our specuialtion of chris evans telling the story, he said, "In the final cut that's probably not true...There was stuff with Cap I cut out. Although he has an 'in' with the audience in that this world is stranger to him, so he's an identification figure." He went on to discuss a potential sequel. He said he wants to avoid Iron Man 2 syndrome, where the story's reduced to a series of sequel-pointers. He said, "We DO give a nod to a greater problem than the one solved in this film...I'm a great believer in the idea that if you make the first one to be a 'first one,' then you have already failed...As much as we want to service the idea of a film in a franchise, I want this to be a satisfying film experience. I don't want people to go out saying, "When's the next part?" I want people to say, "Oh, I want to see that again!" Recently Joss Whedon was at the SXSW festival & entertainment weekly chatted with the avengers helmer, and of course the villain situation was the first thing that came up. Whedon joked, "It's the Vulcans...then went on to say, I don't know a lot about the Marvel universe, and I thought there were Vulcans. I know we're going to get a lot of emails about that one." The mans got some jokes! But he did then confirm in a more serious tone that they are NOT the kree or skrulls. So he confirmed it...they are NOT skrulls or the kree...so we can officially cross those off the list. So why not the skrulls? Well wedon explained, "The Skrulls — they can shape change. That's a whole thing...I've already got Loki. He's got magic. Once you got magic along with your Iron Man and your Black Widow — it's a real juggling act." Joss Whedon also talked about his budget, and that he wanted to build his own limitations on what the film could be despite his vast resources. You can file this one under "Duh", but our favorite superhero team will officially be gracing screens again as The Avengers sequel has been confirmed and we have the details. With over a week in global release and breaking the US opening weekend record, the inevitable Avengers sequel has been officially announced by Disney CEO Bob Iger. In an interview with CNBC, Iger promised the success of The Avengers was just the start for the franchise and would spawn a number of other films and franchises. He stated, "We have an ability to leverage what was a very fun film done by a great group of filmmakers into something much bigger for the company and the effect will be prolonged and that's very, very exciting for us." No official release date has been set for the film, but many are anticipating a most likely 2015 release. In addition to additional superhero spinoffs, Avengers themed attractions are in the works for several of the Disney owned theme parks around the world. According to the wrap, We have just learned that Director Joss Whedon who you may know from The Avengers, has directed, adapted, cast and filmed an entire movie -- an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" -- in secret. SO how did this all come out, well, a website appeared announcing that Whedon's "Much Ado About Nothing," which it says is "based on a play," has completed principal photography. Some further confirmation of the film came to us through twitter via one of the stars of the film. Sean Maher tweeted, "I promise you it's the real deal and we're VERY excited about it!" ...He also tweeted, "Surprise! We just wrapped today..."Sean maher starred in Whedons "firefly and "serenity" So if your wondering who else is starring, Joss has hand selected many actors he has worked with in the past like Fran Kranz, who stars in "The Cabin in the Woods," which Whedon wrote and is producing; "Castle," "Firefly" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Nathan Fillion and "Angel" and "Cabin" star Amy Acker. On yesterday's "Sunday Morning" show on CBS, in a feature about "The Avengers" writer/director/super-geek Joss Whedon the first footage from "Much Ado About Nothing," his micro-budgeted Shakespeare adaptation that he shot in a two week window during post-production on "The Avengers," debuted. And it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect, the small scale antidote to his superhero romp, which is poised to be the summer's first bona fide blockbuster (and with good reason -- it rules). But things aren't so happy everywhere in Whedonville, as his recent horror movie Rubik's Cube "Cabin In The Woods" is getting an inglorious debut in other parts of the world. First, the "Much Ado About Nothing" footage -- fast-forward to the six minute mark if you want to take a gander, although the whole video is pretty interesting, especially because you get some quotes from his wife Kai, who seems to be always alluded to but never seen. We just see a couple of glimpses of scenes, including one with "Dollhouse"/"Cabin In The Woods" nerd Fran Kranz spitting verse as Claudio (and Clark Gregg from "The Avengers," as Leonato, looking on and nodding). Since the movie was shot in Whedon's home, everyone is dressed in suits, not ultra-modern, but still pretty modern. We also see a bit of a party scene and glimpse another Whedon favorite, "Angel" star Amy Acker, as Beatrice.
