Metrics coming back with another. Metric is releasing their new album called Synthetica. Here's one of their new songs they decided to share with us. LASTFM SAYS--Metric is an indie rock band formed in 1998 at Toronto, Canada and based at various times in Montreal, London, New York City and Los Angeles. The band members are Emily Haines (vocals, synthesizers), James Shaw (guitars), Josh Winstead (bass) and Joules Scott-Key (drums). Initially Metric was a duo made up by Haines and Shaw, then in 2001 Winstead and Scott-Key joined the band. They took the name "Metric" in 1999 after a synthesizer beat that Shaw used on his sampler and as a reference to their musical precision. The group's music encompasses elements of indie rock, new wave and dance music. Besides Metric, Emily Haines and James Shaw also perform with Broken Social Scene. Joules Scott-Key and Joshua Winstead have their own side project, bang lime. Emily Haines released her debut album Cut In Half and Also Double in 1996 and two records under the moniker Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton: the album Knives Don't Have Your Back in 2006 and the 6-track EP What Is Free To A Good Home? in 2007. She also has been a guest on albums by Stars, The Crystal Method, kc accidental, Delerium, The Stills and Jason Collett.

Hey guys! I am SO EXCITED about these vids... the rest of the show is up at my second youtube channel, wojo4hitz2. Emily Haines crawling on the stage two feet away (in high def).... wow. This may be one of the most fun (and most challenging) shows I've ever shot. If Tegan and Sara bounced around the stage like this I think I'd have to retire... I couldn't keep up.

Metric in Montreal at Metropolis!!!
Metric is a Canadian indie rock band. Originally formed in Toronto, the band has also, at various times been based in Montreal, London, New York City and Los Angeles. The band consists of vocalist Emily Haines (who also plays the synthesizer and guitar), guitarist James Shaw (who also plays the theremin), bassist Josh Winstead and drummer Joules Scott-Key. Their songs "Monster Hospital", "Police and the Private" and "Front Row" have been used on the television show Grey's Anatomy. "Monster Hospital" has also been used in CSI: Miami and "Gold Gun Girls" has been used on Gossip Girl and Entourage. Gossip Girl also featured "Gimme Sympathy" in the same episode. Yesterday, october 16 2009, I went to the concert in Montreal at Metropoliswas awesome!
