Police said 200 to 300 bodies were found in the northeastern coastal city of Sendai, the city in Miyagi prefecture, or state, closest to the epicentre. Like most people of his area, he did not feel threatened by the tsumani, as it was far enough from the coast. So he continued to drive and do its job. Konnichiwa guys ^_^ As promised- I filmed lots of footage from my trip to Japan for you guys. So come with me and follow me on my journey to Japan ^_^. On 4th December; I woke up to see a post-it note on my mirror. It was a treasure trail prepared by Tim. I followed all of the clues and the last clue was an itinerary & Yen note. I'M GOING TO JAPAN FOR MY BIRTHDAY!! Although I only got to spend 4 full days in Japan- we managed to do/see countless beautiful sightings. Japan is breathtaking. We didn't go to Tokyo because I wanted to experience the authentic and peaceful side of Japan (like how i imagine it in my head). I will definitely visit Tokyo in the future but I wanted to see Osaka/Kyoto first. I wanted to see Zen gardens, temples and geishas. Everything was even more beautiful than I imagined. It was a wonderful journey and we managed to visit some of the greatest temples on earth and eat delicious japanese food. People were very warm and welcoming. I will definitely visit Japan again and I would recommend anybody to visit the country once in their life time. They have a beautiful culture. Big thank you to my lovely boyfriend Tim for being so sweet and romantic. It was a wonderful surprise and I'll never forget our amazing trip together in Japan. I hope you guys enjoy this video. [Hiroyuki Shinoda, Professor, Tokyo University]: "Up until now, holography has been for the eyes only, and if you'd try to touch it, your hand would go right through. But now we have a technology that also adds the sensation of touch to holograms." The technology consists of software that uses ultrasonic waves to create pressure on the hand of a user touching the projected hologram. Researchers are using two Wiimotes from Nintendos Wii gaming system to track a users hand. The technology was introduced at SIGGRAPH, an annual computer graphics conference, and has so far only been tested with relatively simple objects. But its inventors have big plans for touchable holograms in the future. [Hiroyuki Shinoda, Professor, Tokyo University]: "For example, it's been shown that in hospitals, there can be contamination between people due to objects that are touched communally. But if you can change the switches and such into a virtual switch, then you no longer have worry about touch contamination. This is one application that's quite easy to see." Japanese Crystal Ball Performer (Contact Juggling)
This guy was hanging out in Yoyogi park in Harajuku, Tokyo, on a Sunday afternoon. He has clearly practiced a lot! I loved the music he played during his performance. My friends and I were completely mesmerized. He has a very expressive face too, with a charming smile... it really sells the show in the end. Made me feel like a little kid. UPDATE: This video has been up for nearly a year now and I have some information that some of my viewers will appreciate. First, the juggler's name is Okotanpe - and yes he's amazing - one of my favorite memories of Japan! Second, the song that he uses in his final act is called ソレイユ (soreiyu, spelled using katakana, meaning sun, is the Japanese pronunciation of the French word "soleil", also meaning sun). It is sung by Yoshie Nakano 中納良恵.
